Metareview -- The Force Unleashed (360, PS3)

Sep 16th 2008 12:31PM (Joystiq)
Problem is that now even as the reviewers may adjust their scores, readers are still just as up-in-arms over a "bad" score.

It's not like you made the game, why do you care the # it gets? Play it if you like it.

Metareview -- The Force Unleashed (360, PS3)

Sep 16th 2008 11:42AM (Joystiq)
I don't understand the problem. A 70/100 or 7/10 is a GOOD score. At least, that's the way scores are designed. 50/100 should be average: playable but not exceptional. 70 should be above average and a fun time. If you're seriously just basing it on the number a game is given, then you're simply foolish.

Read the actual reviews and ignore the numbers. Gamers think a 50 is horrific (which it shouldn't be) and a 70 is barely playable, oftentimes. Because of this I say we ignore the numbers/letters that are used for grading altogether, unless there's some sort of standard that is given for the grading scheme.

PS Fanboy Caption Competition: E3 Edition

Hey you, I know what you're looking at, and I don't appreciate stares unless you plan to do something about it...

First screens of Rag Doll Kung Fu: Fists of Plastic

Jul 16th 2008 10:20PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Problem is screens can't do a ragdoll game justice. You need to see video or, more realistically, try it for yourself. But for such a small game I doubt a demo is in the works, unfortunately, because I think it would only spread the game's success.

Granted, those who have played the PC version will know how fun it is and be more inclined to give it a shot, but still...can't help but feel like it might need a little kick in the pants to get it going...

The multiplayer classes of Killzone 2

Wow. I've gotta say, if done right, this could be a great multiplayer game...

We take the brand spankin' new PS Store video service for a spin

Jul 16th 2008 8:13AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Post that link on Scrawl and they'll probably put up the petition link--I've seen a bunch of petitions listed there.

Now they just need to move the theatrical trailers from the Game store to the Video store...

Wii Warm Up: Mario or Luigi?

Jul 13th 2008 8:36PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Luigi. Hands down. First off, Luigi is faster and jumps higher. (read: isn't a fatty)

Not to mention I like green better than red, and I don't appreciate why he gets kicked to the side all the time, unfairly.

'What we know so far' about Final Fantasy XIII

I'm not a fan of the video itself, but hey, can't beat good information, right?

2.41 brings new-look Platinum Trophy

Jul 8th 2008 12:04PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Well for the record, I didn't buy any of those games, MakaiOokami. I didn't think any of them was going to interest me long enough to purchase them.

So you're right in comparing it to three other games I didn't think were worth the money, lol. I understand your point, but I just thought that SSHD got boring too quickly, even for a $10 price point. There are few PSN games I'd buy, though--PixelJunk Monsters is one of the VERY few...much more replayability and many more hours of fun, for the price...

Just my opinion though--someone else might love SSHD and think it's worth more than PJM. Either way, SSHD just wasn't for me.

Linger in Shadows rated E by ESRB

Yea, hopefully it won't be too pricey. Otherwise I'll be annoyed (but still might get it...)
