Age of Empires Online hits Steam

Mar 29th 2012 2:36AM (Joystiq)
@HellFlyer

It's only $17 to get the entire game, doesn't seem that expensive imo.

And they added in a "champions" mode for pvp, where gear is cosmetic only and the entire tech tree is unlocked so everyone can compete on equal footing.

It's a pretty fun game, and that bundle is definitely worth the asking price - that 17 dollars gets you more content than most full-priced games.

That post by the PR guy is probably one of the most interesting things to come out of the whole ME3 ending anger so far - it's pretty cool to get an inside look like that.

There are plenty of legitimate reasons for people to be upset over the games ending. This article summarizes them nicely:

Yknow, there are plenty of perfectly valid reasons to be upset about the ending. This article summarizes them nicely:

Double Fine Kickstarter adds new rewards, Schafer and Gilbert talk it out

@T24

They added these rewards in ADDITION to the ones that were already there. So for 30 dollars you get the completed game, access to all the development stuff (including beta), HD download of the documentary, as well as the digital sound tracks for both the game and the documentary.

Seems more than fair to me.

Mass Effect 1 and 2, Modern Warfare 2 for PC cheap today on Amazon

Screw ME and CoD, Dungeon Defenders for $3 is the best deal on that list. That game is one of the most fun co-op games I've ever played, and has gotten tons of support, patches, and DLC from the devs since launch.

At that price, everyone should own it.

Hero Academy available now on iOS, free

Jan 12th 2012 2:20AM (Joystiq)
This game is amazing. It's like an asynchronous multiplayer version of Fire Emblem, where units, gear, and spells exist as tiles in your hand. You have 5 action points you can spend each turn, which you can use to deploy a unit, move, attack, cast a spell, or equip a unit.

The art style looks fantastic, the UI is slick (and familiar to anyone who's played words with friends), and the gameplay is incredibly engaging.

Given the entry price of free, this is a game everyone should own.
