Apr 26th 2009 9:51PM (Joystiq)Sony calls PlayStation Home a 'perfect storm,' next generation of content coming
Mar 30th 2009 1:44PM (Joystiq)Sure its pretty but it is meaningless. You can play a few simplistic games in there, the clothing and purchasing items for your virtual apartment is novelty for the first few days and then it's just pointless.
What use does it actually serve? Who cares about advertising? i can see more than likely the same videos etc on the internet without taking up even more room on my ps3's hard drive.
Who cares about meeting a ton of people? you can do that in a game - I personally don't care to meet random people - I prefer to play a game, find a good person or persons that are in that game that i play along well with and add them as a friend that way - trying that in home, finding a person and then adding them as a friend, playing with them to find out they are either good, or just idiots, rude, bad players etc where you then remove them from your friends list is just counter productive.
All in all home is just a glorified pretty environment with no real purpose.

Feb 26th 2008 2:05PM (Joystiq)I know you don't have to pay for something you don't want, I simply stated there will be things that you will want but will have to pay for in order to get them, there thats not bashing now is it little fan boys.
I also stated lets see if it can run without crashing. It's well known that the browser and virtual keyboard take up more memory than they need to and the rest thats left is for home, my guess is something is going to get scaled back here to accommodate home - if not, i have a feeling if a simple browser can crash with insufficient memory errors then I'm going to go out on a limb and say something as ambitious as HOME can also - again not bashing, just making a simple statement.
Home will be a fad for a couple of months (unlike the wii) and thats all it probably will be. Things such as wondering around socializing with your friends, meeting up to play games? Are you serious? why do you need a 3d world for that when you can just pop in a disc, create a game, send out invites or wait for you friends to click your name and join and be done with it?
why stand around for 20 minutes waiting for your 'virtual' friends to show up when you can just 'jump in'

Feb 25th 2008 4:43PM (Joystiq)Wrong - You will have to pay for upgrades to your home - the actual home environment is free but content is not always free.
Lets see if it works without crashing HOME, unlike the browser that crashes simply by browsing espn.com (memory errors galore)

Totem Ball gesticulates onto Xbox Live Arcade
Oct 5th 2006 12:35PM (Joystiq)The game started making my shoulders ache after only a few minutes of play ( i have a bad shoulder to start with) so i can only imagine what the wii is going to do to people.
In concept its great. Lighting? My cam is 5 feet from my overhead ceiling fan light which has 3 bulbs and it didnt help much. Oh well.
Its not that bad of a game to be honest and people complaining that its listed as a weekly arcade game but only for cam users, oh well - not everything is catered for the entire population.
Some cars have a/c some dont - some cars have leather seats, some dont.
