T-Mobile myTouch 3G announced, starts shipping late July
Jun 22nd 2009 4:31PM (Engadget)Processor speeds? Do I care? Not a bit. When anandtech.com points out that my G1 takes twice the time that the Palm Pre and iPhone 3GS do to load a page, I do care. The G1 needs more power and more optimized code.

Aug 1st 2008 5:17PM (Engadget HD)The original author, much like the company he worships, seems to like keeping things secret. He did not tell us the patent number, or give us a link to the application. Since bugmenot couldn't give a good username for his site.....

Pattent number: 7,305,506
Assignee: Apple Inc. (Cupertino, CA)

Jay Leno tells Detroit to make better cars
May 25th 2008 12:53AM (Autoblog)There was a story in the Wall Street Journal a while ago. It was about some kid who was a quality engineer for a Japanese company who switched to an American company.
He stated that at the Japanese factories, the workers are empowered to stop the line as soon as they notice even the smallest problem. They are encouraged to.
At the American factories, if something was discovered, the protocol was to keep pumping cars out, and go back and fix the vehicles later. The factory had to meet it's quota even if it meant making defective vehicles.
We Americans aren't convinced of Detroit's improvements yet. Just look at the resale values.
Dallas considers shutting off red light cams, since they're working too well and harming revenue
Mar 16th 2008 2:14AM (Engadget)That's right, the citizens of Dallas paid more for inferior cameras all in the name of political back scratching. ACS has also been in trouble for back dating stock options.
