Just because DBX00 got his panties in a bunch over couple of PS3 posts doesn't mean Joystiq isn't a news source. Joystiq provides interviews. They also have over 90% rumor accuracy, trust me on this, more thanan 9 out of 10 of their rumors have come to pass. It seems Joystiq is very timid about which rumors they will even lend a comment (working in the video game industry, I frequent game news sites daily).
I find it hilarious that when MGS is mentioned, the PS3 fanbois go nuts touting it in the faces of Xbox and Wii owners. But when an utterly amazing RPG is mentioned as a 360 exclusive, they remain oddly silent.
"Proves that joystiq does not like Sony. You have been the 1st site to criticize sony for even the smallest amount of bad press, making it into this huge thing."
I hate to break it to you.... but every recognizeable blog has posted an endless stream of bad news for the PoS3. Digg.com, Kotaku, penny-arcade, joystiq, cnn, fox news, etc. etc. etc. Joystiq isn't biased. News is news. I'm sorry that some "news" breaks your little fanboy heart, but Joystiq is simply reporting gaming news. period.
If you must hate Joystiq for reporting the issues the PoS3 has endured, then you must hate every major gaming blog under the face of the sun.
"I wonder how many ads Sony had to buy at their site to earn that recognition."
Probably quite a bit since they don't deserve it.
"From your lead in alone. hell froze over! Proves that joystiq does not like Sony."
No, it proves that there actually IS positive news concerning $ony in the sea of negative news. Negative news isn't Joystiq's creating. Its everywhere. PoS3 has gone to great lengths to deserve its horrendeous press lately.
I don't think this judge has common sense. Even the fact that the judge REVIEWED the game is total bunk. This entertains the possibility that the judge would have ruled against the sale of the game (luckily she didn't). So ... the court is now going to start reviewing every video game, book, and movie and give it a stamp of approval before it can go into the market? WTF happened to freedom of speech?!?!?!?!?!
I don't think Oblivion will be on the Wii. It simply can't handle the graphics.
On a side note, it is certainly interesting that PS3 is losing all of its "exclusive" titles this generation. Seems 360 and Wii are the only two getting any true exclusives so far.
"Every platform has its achilles heel, I suppose. It is interesting, though, that Sony will have the SAME ONE two generations in a row: I am thoroughly unconvinced that they have their act together at all in the online arena."
PS3's utter lack of online services will be a dealbreaker for many in this generation. Last generation, xbox came out AFTER PS2, so it was understood that their online component was not comparable. However, Sony has had years to investigate and invest in a solid online component to their game platform. Sadly, they not only dropped the ball, they chose not to even compete.
to #31: I agree that 600 bucks ins't much money. However, the culture of the video game industry demands that this is too much money. You see, traditionally hardware sells at a loss and the profit is made up in game sales. Sony is hurting financially and must make a profit in the sale of the hardware. Considering this is anti-culture to the industry, it is going to deter A LOT of people.
Just take penny-arcade for example. They have flat out stated they WILL NOT be buying the console at its current price. This isn't out of the ordinary... this is a completely average response to Sony's pricing.
