Japan: iPhone just looks like another phone to us

Jan 13th 2007 4:57AM (Engadget Mobile)
@MauiDude

Thanks for your post. Very well spoken. I don't know much about the market there and that really did shade some light on the issue.

What may be an issue though for iPhone in Asia is that it won't be launched there before somewhere in 2008. That's even after the launch in Europe. Strangely enough.

iTunes 7 turning out to have major glitches

Sep 14th 2006 12:52PM (Engadget)
I have experienced the stuttering while listening to podcasts but I have no problems with downloads. iTunes 7 is not slower, it's faster. It loads faster and it handles allot of music and podcasts alot faster, better and smoother. That was actually the first thing I noticed. iTunes7's response is much better when it comes to big PodCasts collections, at least on Windows. I had no problems downloading "CNET's Buzz Oud Loud", no problem at all, everything works perfect. Just the stuttering sometimes.

I don't understand.

Why don't they just count the votes by hand as they always have done? More secure, more reliable. More verything.

TV standby buttons to be outlawed

Jul 16th 2006 3:34PM (Engadget)
This is really a big problem. Much bigger then most people belive.

Like 8-9 years ago I read in a Swedish science periodical that all electronics at standby in the USA consumes as much energy as London in a year. Just imagine. USA could be able to close down a few nuclear power plants or use all this energy to something else then just keeping stuff at standby...
