@NaeemTHM Always good to see an old school Ninja Gaiden player! I remember vividly how much time my brother and I invested in beating the first game. The eagle on the last part of the bridge was always the worst. Then of course there was the gauntlet of bosses at the end of the game, and that was IF you even got to them.
Looking back, as a five year old child I wasn't about to let the game best me.
I personally prefer Fable 1 to the other 3, but here are my biggest complaints with 3 (and I still enjoyed it for the most part)
-Dumbed down magic -Dumbed down Melee combat -Automatic finishing moves that happen at random -No "repair all" feature -Framerate was horrible -Rehashed bad guys (though to be fair this is fairly common with the series). For the most part I was fighting the exact guys from Fable 2. -Dumbed down gestures. WHY do I have to erotically dance with some guy just to be friends? Also, why can't I interact with an entire group? -Hand holding was broken and in the end, a bad idea. -The dog needed to be fixed or removed. Everytime I play the game now and the dog barks I just cringe. -Weapon morphs weren't as cool as they should have been. -Changing the colors on your outfits didn't work as awesome as it could have. I want bright red hair, not muddy red/orange. -Why is my hero no longer a Hulk when I stick to melee combat? -Dumbed down RPG, inability to customize my guy's stats based on my playing style. -Boss fight was a total cop out. TOTAL cop out. They pegged this thing to be so awesome and such a threat and well, you know what happened. Fable 1 TLC called, it wanted to show you how to do a proper end boss fight. -Why is the swimming still messed up? SO frustrating sometimes. -Some of the choices you make as King are weird. For example, I want the people to be able to drink, the game indicates that's the good choice, and then ALL of the citizens are intoxicated in the streets. Come on... that's just stupid.
Seriously, I'm going to stop there. I could keep going but I'm not going to. I enjoyed Fable 3, but the guys at Lionhead need to admit that Fable 3 is not better than Fable 2. It's not even better than Fable 1. It's two steps backwards. I miss being able to break into homes and steal stuff. Seriously, why was that removed? That was an absolute blast in the first game. Heck, I got so good at it I used to steal the blacksmith's weapons in Bowerstone in the middle of the day, then sell him his own weapons, then re-steal them. Broken? Yes. Fun? YES.
There's obviously a lot of love for the Space Core, and he's totally awesome, but I have to say that after having listened to all of the Adventure Core's lines he is my absolute favorite.
@Architecture So you're saying Ubi should stop packaging each new version of the game with over priced plastic instruments that will clutter your living room with minor revisions to the plastic instruments each subsequent year?
@HardBoiled2009 I think you're missing part of the big picture. I mean, yah, the whole 2012 thing is crazy and people are going nuts over it, you've got a point there. BUT, the references to things like the bible and all of that are only part of it.
*Spoilers for anyone who has never completed The Truth*
We saw in the video from AC2 that Adam and Eve weren't alone, that there were literally hundreds of other people with them. When you get down into what The Truth really is, it shows the bible to be an interpretation of mankind's past. It doesn't come off as preachy (an the beginning statement of every AC game sets that tone), rather it comes of as part of a mystery. The only thing it uses is certain symbolism from the bible, ie, Adam and Eve or "Eden".
That's one of the reasons that I love the AC games. I'm a very religious man but seeing Ubisoft portray our past as being directly involved with alien races or some kind of super human beings is awesome.
@Anticrawl To be fair, a lot of the info from their camp lately has been that they'd love to work with Nintendo but the big N doesn't have anything that will support the Unreal engine. If that changes with the next console I'm sure Epic will be more than happy to jump on board.
@VeeDeeVee So you're telling us that because Valve made it optional to purchase content for your characters that the game isn't as good? Seriously, the game was a 10 in your book but now it's a 5...
I guess playing the game is only half of the experience for you. The rest of the experience is based on what kind of optional content a developer may provide at cost.
Makes sense to me. I was going to absolutely LOVE Portal 2 because it was a sequel to a game that I thought was fantastic. Sure, the 2nd Portal game has an entirely new co-op campaign, it's got additional features and more voice actors. Essentially, it's got EVERYTHING that a proper sequel should have.
...But charging for optional skin content? Phhh....that crosses the line Valve. Your game is right up there with every mediocre game ever made now.
What Ryu looking at? Ninja Gaiden 3 screens!

Apr 18th 2011 3:05PM (Joystiq)You DO realize it's a BETA, right? It's not so much a demo as it is a bunch of us all publicly helping them iron out the kinks?
Get in the dick-killing mood with a free Bulletstorm soundtrack
Apr 15th 2011 9:13AM (Joystiq)Actually yes, yes it is. The soundtrack for the game is pretty intense.
