My problem with the game already, may need to play the demo a bit more but to me it just feels like there are balancing issues all over the place - makes the game inconsistent IMO.
I believe, no matter how many customizations you throw in the game, there needs to be some kind of inherent balance. BFBC2 does a good job as does Halo: Reach and those are thoroughly successful games I enjoy.
Crysis, to me so far, feels tacky - like the designers had tons of ideas, and just threw them in without considering the long term effect it has on the gameplay.
But to each there own, I can't deny I've had some fun in the demo and a lot of the addition do sound like fun.
I've been playing the original Freespace with Xpadder and a 360 controller and I'm having superb fun with it still. If I can do it, I'm sure Volition can.
The real majesty of Forge in Halo is not just being able to customize maps, but being able combine the possibilities Forge presents with the plethora of gametype customizations as well is what sets it apart from most level editors.
No no no. What you're thinking of is Armor Abilities. They act like your third weapon in that you can swap them and keep reusing them and have cool down period (or reload time if you will). Their function is to act like a personal version of Halo 3's equipment, but changes the gameplay in that you can develop your own play style depending on which Armor Ability you choose (ie Active Camo or Sprint).
These armor customization options are purely cosmetic and are to help reflect you as a player in an online space.
