Loremaster achievement changes coming with Cataclysm

Nov 24th 2010 6:25PM (WoW)
I had about 2800 quests (as shown by the 2000 quests done achievement) but now I have 1777/3000 quests. :/

I was Loremaster of Eastern Kingdoms and have the title still with the meta achievement, however, the individual zones marked as completed in that achievement are NOT completed in the long list. I was 200 quests away from Loremaster of Kalimdor, but now I have to redo it all?

ALL the lowbie quests from Kalimdor to do again? Really? What a reward for someone playing since 2004, Blizzard.

Heading to Gamescom? Massively is looking to pay for fan coverage

Excellent. :) Then you do have another job besides Massively.com?

The reason for my initial comment: I've been writing about games myself since 1993, full-time since 1995. And I'm getting a bit frustrated at the moment about how gaming companies are spending larger amounts of money on marketing than ever before - money that also goes to print and online media, while at the same time the reimbursements for writing articles keep going down.

"This job is a labor of love and you certainly can't say any of us are in it for the money."

Let's see if that is going to change once Mom isn't cooking and doing laundry for you anymore. ;-)

You know, I was in that press conference and most of the others. I laughed. You won't believe how boring the other ones were.

NES collection fetching thousands on eBay

$200,000+? Oh my, hooray for bogus bidders.

One thing I'm not sure anybody mentioned in here: Why would a serious collector want to buy cartridges only, without box or manual?

Crytek revises claim: Crysis could be ported

Oct 6th 2006 10:37PM (Joystiq)
"Joystiq why yu so bias? PS3 can run Crysis at a higher frame rate and higher resolution than any computer for the next 10 years! That's a fact! Look it uup!

No computer can have a higher resolution than 1080p! Only the PS3 is capabable of trueHD resolution!"

Good one, AzN-ten8Tpee. Did you see F.E.A.R. on PS3 yet?

Oh, and my resolution is set to 1280x1024 at the moment - is that HD or what?

Token based loot...good or bad?

@cappyoak, well spoken. At the moment, WoW is not a game for casual gamers. It rewards hardcore grinding and farming. Even if one gets nice sets from raid instances, what are they good for? To master the next raid instance. Oh, you wanted to use the stuff during your regular outworld play? Too bad. I think that Blizzard wants to appease the casual players who can "only" play 1, 2 hours per day with the new areas in Outland, but once your char is at 70 and has seen everything, what's left? More farming and grinding.

WoW Moviewatch: An unpreventable case of WoW addiction

Oct 6th 2006 3:52AM (WoW)
Well, fact is that the guy dropped out of school. And he choses to play. And the mom doesn't take the computer away. Case closed? Well, almost. I would agree that gaming can become an addiction just like gambling or drugs. Denying that is closing the eyes to reality.
