Fanswag: Win a Zapper and Umbrella Chronicles

Dec 3rd 2007 3:07PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Ok, so it is kinda cliched, but I have to say Duck Hunt, not only because it was the first game I EVER played, but the ability to actually aim and shoot ducks by pointing at the screen was an absolutely groundbreaking moment for me.....hopefully RE:UC will be the same with the zapper.

WRUP: Spending some time with the classics edition

Jul 20th 2007 12:37PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'll be playing RE4:Wii Edition again, since I absolutely love
that
game. Also, I might try playing the second quest on the original
Zelda, since I beat that recently. I also have to finish Orcale of
Ages and Seasons on my game boy colour, since i want to finish as
many zeldas as possible.

Poll: The best in motion controls (so far)

Jul 18th 2007 11:28PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
The polls are inacurate. It seems that these people voted for the best game, not the best controls. Yes, TP was fantastic for all 4 times i played through it, but i found that TC:SO and RE4 had better controls, even though TP was better (even though i personally enjoyed RE4 better...). In Zelda, aiming was very acurate. I experienced little problems with the remote, but a few with the nunchuk; we ALL did. Trauma center had great and simple controls, like switching tools with the nunchuk, but you mostly just aimed. in RE4, we aimed for true pinpoint accuracy, and we waggled to run and dodge massive boulders. RE4 on the wii was not the most revolutionary experience for me (OoT, anyone?), but it certainly expanded upon what was already one of the best games ever crafted. Even if you didn't like the scheme to move your position while aiming with the nunchuk, when it comes to motion control, RE4 did it greatly.

Note: I still love Zelda, ALOT, hell, probably more than those who voted for it, since i chose RE4 obviously, but i hope the next one will have near perfect controls.

How far did you get? [update 1]

95.1% with all heart pieces, 47 poes, 21 bugs, and it took me 55 hours.

Friday Video: games destroyed the World Trade Center

Jan 6th 2007 1:47PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I could just rant on about Lieberman and Thompson (I've always hated those two, but now? Dear god...) but over the past 20 comments, all of you guys have said what I wanted to say. If there's ever something like this on the news where the public has a chance to comment by e-mail or phone, we should all participate in this and even send a link to this very website.

I swear, why would those two dumbasses blame video games? Idiocy, or personal issues? If there's anything that will drive us gamers to kill people, it's not going to be the games, it will be the people like Thompson that say games are bad in the first place.

T-minus seven days (Times Square coverage)

Luckily, I preordered my Wii and 4 Wii games, so I just need to drive to my local store, hand them my receipt and pick up my new Wii!

Zelda impressions recap

Cassamassina has a 6 page article on TP. Go read it if you haven't. Very in-depth. He even says that only a fool would get the gamecube version.

Another Wii demo kiosk in the wild documented

That's sweet. I'm gonna check my EB games for any.

According to some, Wii may not be "next-gen"

Oct 23rd 2006 3:03PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I'm tired of idiots that think that next-gen is only about how to look at games. They can't call themselves real gamers if they beleive that only graphics are important. Playability is the largest factor in video games, and if anything, PS3 and Xbox 360 are not next gen because they only have better graphics, while gameplay is still traditional, unlike the Wii's amazing free-hand remote.
