Second Audi kills getting the 3.2L A4 Avant (love that engine)
Third Audi kills getting the 2.0T A4 Avant in a manual (so forget about chipping it)

A BMW 535xi wagon in manual was the _ONLY_ next choice for me. WTF!

Now's here hoping that CTS wagon comes in V-spec and that the massive C-pillar isn't too bad on it.

So sad. It's probably due to our stupid certification laws. Bad enough that we don't get half the engine choices as everyone else does.

Owner of a B7 3.2 here. The 3.2 is a wonderful, refined engine. Comparable on smoothness to the lovely BMW 330i's (former car).

Here is where I stand on Audi's as future cars though:
* no more S4 Avants
* only A4 Avant you can buy is the 4-banger
* no more Avant with a manual
* higher price for a 4banger.. huh?
* Q5's and Q7's are just garbage in design IMHO
* yet to even push their TDI models to us in the USA

I'm thinking the next car will be a return to BMW. Seems like the only manufacturer that balances luxury with sport these days. The fact that you can buy a 5series wagon in stick says something.

Can they show off the US-based S4 avant instead? Better yet, how about giving the US the RS4 avant... damn AoA!!!

Can they just kill all the Q's instead? I'm an Audi lover (A4 Avant 3.2). It's a shame that they continue to follow... K-I-L-L the SUV crap!

Looks like I got the last manual avant quattro (2007 B7 3.2). After this news of only a 4-banger-auto... I'm going to have to shop BMW. What garbage.. Perhaps we'll still be worth of the s4 Avant in the US. Surely they can't mandate an automatic on that!

Please Audi.. you're killing us. Hurry up an build a production plant over here.

Northern California 2007 Audi A4 avant owner here. I love my wagon, but that CTS wagon has me drooling. Especially with German cars costing more with the weakened USD.

Wagon's are niche market in the US. Silly since an SUV is basically a wagon. But if they make the wagon available with a nice v6 or that v-series v8.. I'd jump ship. I haven't owned an American car in 15years. Listen UP GM!!! I know your reading.
