2) PS3 has more "good games" (11 vs. 7)
3) wii has many more outright bad games (6 vs. 1)

what does this all imply? that's for you to decide (and the fanboys to scream about) but this is ~metadata~ it holds a touch more weight than joystiq no?

I hope, dearly, that you are on to something. And it seems like you are, since all of this is based on wii/linux work and the PS3 does linux (well?) and certainly the ROMs will be available. I think the biggest hurdle to wii emulation on PS3 will be the emulation it self, since even gamecube emulators are still experimental. (http://www.emulator-zone.com/doc.php/gamecube/dolphin.html)

I still play:

bushido blade - there has never been as solid of a one hit kills fighter. Incredibly deep. The seccond sucked.

nitrous oxide (n2o) - i can completely tune out and play this game for hours.

metal gear solid - it's still fun to break necks.

fanboyism aside, this has the ~potential~ to be huge. If, in fact, it runs a full Linux distro and is thus compatible with all the linux software out there it adds a lot to the value of the machine. This would definaqtely sway me into buying one, i need to get a linux box anyway, and for $600 what kind of computer would i get?

unfortuneately, this is sony we're talking about and I (as i'm sure others do) have my doubts. Looking at the examples set by the psp/ps2 they aren't likely to just give you a pre-installed full OS. while linux might sway me and a few others, unless it's clean and ~incredibly~ easy to use, no one will care. Also #26 hit it spot on with the emulation worries. Sony won't sell a piece of hardware unless they can control exactly what software it can run. have they ever done anything else?
