Take a closer look at the Wii U's crazy controller

Jun 11th 2011 12:51AM (Joystiq)
@wqerty I keep hearing people talk about the price, but I really don't see it being an issue. Why? Because one will obviously be included with the console, and, while everyone seems to assume it'll support more, I have seen nothing claiming that it does. Has anyone seen any evidence that one can use multiple Wii U controllers at once? I think it'd be technically a problem as well due to the processing power and wireless bandwidth required for streaming the video to the screen on the controller.

Grezzo behind The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

@Punkrawk Bbob I'm pretty sure they ARE rebuilding it from the ground up. It's clearly got much better graphics than the original, with higher-resolution models and such, plus the control scheme is entirely different, there have been hints at new features (for one thing, something'd need to replace the rumble pak for certain things), etc.
Sounds like it'd take more than a simple port to me.

Kongregate CEO Jim Greer on getting pulled from the Android Market

Jan 23rd 2011 1:30PM (Joystiq)
@DustbinK The main advantage is the interface is nicer than the browser, you can keep games cached for faster load times, and, if i'm not mistaken, you can play them without an internet connection (not a huge deal for most people i guess, but nice if you have a tablet without cellular data or a limited data plan.)

@The Albatross
The other difference is you can still download the app, as a .apk file from Kongregate's website, and install it, without hacking your phone.

Dragon Age to be rocked by 'Golems of Amgarrak' DLC on Aug. 10

@The Nth Doctor
You don't have to buy the PC version. You can download it from EA's website and then use the same activation code you did for the Mac version, copy over your save files, and play through the PC-only DLC.

iPhone 4 teardown: 512MB RAM confirmed (updated)

I am pretty sure the iPhone has always had 'Gorilla Glass', just it has never been advertised that way. In fact I heard that it was originally designed for the iPhone…

How would you change Apple's Core i7 MacBook Pro?

@Sinnsyk
I'm pretty sure there's a way to set a 'firmware password' that does exactly what you describe.

@DoctarPeppar
Actually, to get HDMI output, complete with audio, you only need a (about) $13 adaptor that is powered by the MiniDisplay port itself. The most recent apple laptops (like this one) support audio out through hdmi when using a minidisplayport to hdmi adaptor.

Wii Controller Demo gets active, Android and Wiimote handle Donkey Kong on video

@justinpe Well also, what about games that were always meant to be portable? Game Boy and Game Boy Advance emulators are also available for android, and those games were meant to be played on small screens, and are in my opinion much more fun to play than the small selection of mostly puzzle games on the android market.

Skype to roll out five-way video calling next week, remote partying to surge

May 5th 2010 1:57PM (Engadget)
@admlshake
Why does it matter? Skype calls made over verizon on the droid are free anyway and don't use your minutes. That's what I heard, anyway.
