Japanese Developers give their thoughts on next-gen consoles

Oct 6th 2006 5:55PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Too bad it is Japan...

Here in the United States of America Xbox 360 is totally gonna blow away PS3. When Sony finally starts shipping PS3 in large quantities they are going to walk right into Halo 3. XBOX Live grows larger and stronger everyday.

PS3 will fail.

Wii on another holiday hot list

Oct 6th 2006 5:36PM (Joystiq)
I'm 24 and have a full-time career. I am also a gamer attending to LAN parties and such. I currently have a high-end PC, XBox 360, PS2, and a Game Cube.

It would seem I would be the prime customer for the PS3, but I simply don't have an interest in it. I barely bought any games for the PS2. I played FFX, MGS2, Dynasty Warriors 2, and Kessen. Since 2002, I have rarely touched it.

Truth is, I love to play mostly Online games like Halo 1 PC, Halo 2, Battlefield 2 for 360, and Real-time strategy games like C&C and Starcraft. I played World of Warcraft for a little while last year, but I didn't have time to get too deep. I also love the Zelda Games and Smash bros. series.

What I am saying is this:

PC: Real Time Strategy and MMORPGs

XBOX 360: FPSs and retro gaming

Wii: Children and innovative games and accessories

PS3: A Blu-ray player, but I do not have a High-Def TV so it is not worth it.

Sorry Sony, but I am not buying a PS3, even if the price was reduced. The games do not look that exciting. FF13 looks, well, odd. The system is only 10% more powerful than the 360. That means more games that come out on PS3 will come out on 360.

The best thing that Sony did make was a game called Infantry which is on SOE. It is fun, if that came out on PS3 I would buy it.
