Really love this app. It's easily a viable alternative to Photoshop already, but very much looking forward to the content-aware features, as well as the inevitable UI improvements that will come with the big two-point-oh.

I'd consider myself a pretty savvy computer user. When I see family and friends fall afoul of viruses on their Windows machines, it frustrates me to no end as it's usually me who has to try and fix it. It's almost always (I hate to say it) due to user stupidity in my experience when malware enters a system and wreaks havoc. They have antivirus software and the like, but nothing can be better for keeping your PC secure than being properly educated on what you should and shouldn't be giving programs access.

As for the Mac, I've never really thought of my system as not being secure as, in the end, as long as you are sensible in what sites you visit and what you download you should be
fine.

However, saying that I still have Sophos's free solution installed on my Air as a failsafe as any amount of vigilance can be broken given enough time. Take for example a dodgy e-mail I received a little while ago. I saw in Thunderbird and it hit all the flags for being blatantly spam with it's subject and the fact that it contained a zip file attachment. As I was experimenting with different e-mail clients at the time, I later opened Apple's default Mail client. Since Mail automatically downloaded all e-mails on the server including the attachment *boom*, virus on my system. Without Sophos I never would've known it was there.

I'm not saying that it will happen to everyone, but in my opinion, I'd rather (as a the adage goes) "be safe than sorry".

Reasonable HD shooting, but stills are awful. I think most people realise this.

I've never not had my iPhone 4 when using my iPad 2. It hasn't even crossed my mind to choose to shoot images on my iPad 2.

Some people are a bit mad......Surely any camera phone made in last 6 years would've produced better stills (that's not to mention the impracticality of hauling an iPad to a concert).

If you're jailbroken, then a solution like TruPrint is the best option for wireless printers since it doesn't require a Mac for middleman duties. It'll also "print" to PDF if you wanted it to.

I use good ol' tried and true Time Machine on my Mac. No thrills or spills, but does the real-time element does the job great. It's saved my ass more than a couple of times.

For my documents, I also have a spare backup in the cloud with Dropbox.

@Sebastian Anthony Of course, but it doesn't currently stand for that since the idea of Windows becoming a generic term was "threatened" and also the fact that it would be more accurate to suggest that Wine is actually a software translation or compatibility layer rather than an emulator.

Wine doesn't naturally try to emulate a different hardware architecture, rather it provides a set of tools to allow translation of Windows function calls in its' programs to run on alternative OS.

Anyway, on topic. I quite like CrossOver in both the standard and games version on the Mac. Good to see an update on it. However, I do tend to find that the games version doesn't deliver on the promise of bleeding-edge Wine builds getting baked in as soon as they are available.
