I truly believe the raison d'etre of the X6 Hybrid is so that BMW can show all of us exactly how pointless SUVs are.

It is an inside joke BMW is pulling on us all - they want us to stop driving these things and be more sane in our transportation choices, so they make the most nonsensical vehicle ever to prove a point: they're ridiculous vehicles!

This thing is a rolling oxymoron. It's a 5700 lb hybrid. It has less cargo space than a '96 Integra. Its an SUV that can't go off-road.

I am in the market for something like this - I've checked out the Squeezebox, but it doesn't seem as 'girlfriend friendly' as the Sonos solution - nothing against girlfriends in general - just mine.

GM was making so much money on Hummers, Surburbans, convertible saturns and rebadged Toyotas before the Government came in and ruined them.

I want the old GM back. You know - GM that made the SSR, the GM that was gonna import El Caminos from Australia. The GM that spent billions on niche vehicles that would never turn a profit but couldn't make a decent 4-door sedan.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned that there is no way this thing will retail for anything near 27k. I'm thinking 34k to start. This is VW...the same VW that couldn't bring the Scirocco [sp?] here for less than 30k. If I can get one of these for 27k this year, I'll eat vw's balls
