The lawsuit seems a little crazy. That being said, I have a real issue with releasing a product that despite all testing showing bad things, was released and advertised as an upgrade.

iPhone 3GS's stopped working as advertised, to the point where you can't even make calls in some cases. iPod Touch batteries drained at a high rate of speed. Mine went from lasting a week on standby to under 24 hours.

There was little to no benefit for these products to be upgraded to iOS 4.1 and for someone with no technical knowledge (imagine the people who don't read this blog.) imagine what they think. It was probably silly for me to think going from 3 to 4 would be better, and even some of the additional "fixes" haven't fixed everything.

The fact there's a demand for getting back to iOS 3.1 really shows there's some substance behind the problem.

I'm going to go with a mouse-trap disguised as an iPhone. Purely for entertainment purposes.

Before we get too excited about the Unreal Engine, lets make sure it can actually play with you know, things in it.

FF VII and shockingly quite a bit of Rock Band Unplugged DLC. Who would've thought?

They're just going to eliminate the UMD. All games downloadable. Super-fast loading!

A long time favorite, I've played through and received a gold medal in nearly every stage now. Online leaderboard functionality is very cool. The only downside is needing the Wii version to open the final galaxies. A great pickup.

How about some good ole marketing. Boom Blox relied on industry outlets to push the good buzz regarding Boom Blox out on the market. Sure it got good reviews, but who READS reviews. Hardcore gamers. Who is Boom Blox and the Wii oriented towards? Casual Gamers.

They failed to build the buzz with casual gamers, and because of that, the $50 price-point is certainly a no-no. I saw no television ads or commercials, no news mentions, nothing. Had Boom Blox opened at $30 it would've had a fighting chance without the PR. Heck it should STILL sell like gang-busters at $20.

Otherwise Boom Blox will be relegated to the world of "cult-classic" along with the Devil Dice's of the world.

To me, WiiWare's biggest advantage so far has been that the games have been presented in a more accessible way. I'm not sure how to explain it, but I feel more comfortable and confident making a snap purchase of a WiiWare game than an XBLA game.

Generally an XBLA game requires me to play a trial and get some great buzz around it before I throw down. Then again, when I do, I'm extremely pleased. Pac-Man:CE and N+ being the big ones.

I don't feel like i need to do that with WiiWare... then again.. I don't really get the option now do I?

Lets not forget that this stat ignores multiplayer game play. So sessions is one thing, but if there's four people playing on a session, that is an interesting stat to keep track of. Most people who are playing multi on a 360 or PS3 are using Live and PSN. Most on the Wii are doing it in from of the television. The session stat may be a bit loaded.
