Favorite scenes are with the Uber Immortal, for the actor lives about 20 minutes from my place.

Nintendo Wii offered on cruise ships, old people finally stop playing shuffleboard

"The Wii (or anything 480i/p) would look horrible if it was displayed on a 50ft screen and you stand 10ft away from it. Those would be some big, muddled pixels."

I can tell you from experience that the Wii looked muddled on my 51" HDTV from 8ft away, but looked horrible on my 106" screen (via projector) from 12ft away.

"Plus Wii games are fun as hell"
I agree....HELL was the first thing that came to my mind after playing the Wii for a short period. On a side note, I am no longer a Wii owner.

While I did like the Xbox 360 Elite, I was distracted by the huge rack on the reporter.

Xbox 360 Elite: HDMI-enabled black unit in late April for $479, limited-edition

I'll get one.

As an early adopter, I am not pissed one bit. Why should I?

PS1, PS2, Nintendo DS, Gameboy, Sega Genesis, all consoles I can remember getting redesigned....no major kicking and screaming there.

Microsoft's sneaky Xbox 360 "update"

No homebrew?

What do you call XNA? If all people cared about was homebrew, then they would use XNA and be happy, but they are using homebrew as a trojan horse to playing pirated games.

I do not have any problems with this patch. I do hope that Microsoft does stay ahead of the game this generation. I used to hate online gaming on the PC, as you never knew if your oponent was actualy better than you, or just cheating.

Poll: How much are you playing Wii?

Feb 28th 2007 1:34PM (Joystiq)
I actually played it a bit when I first got it. The first day, I used it about 5 hours, then about 2 the second day, and an hour or so each day for the rest for the first week....now it has been gathering dust for the past 3 weeks. The only time I feel inclined to turn on my Wii, is to check the weather.

I actualy posted it on Ebay, but it did not sell. I was only asking the price I paid for the console, Wii Play, and extra wiimote and nunchuck and could not even get a bid.

Now I fear that I may be stuck with it as my local SuperStore actualy has Wiis on the shelf.

Here is hoping that is actually a good game to play something time year on the thing. If I wanted to play flash games, I could have gotten those free on the Internet.

PS/ Cannot wait to get home to play DDR Revolution.

Mysterious Wii 'Sadness' explained!

Feb 16th 2007 4:29PM (Joystiq)
I felt nothing but Wii Sadness since getting the Wii. Wii Play nearly brought me to the point of Wii Melancholy. Only as Wii Sports has managed to keep me interested just enough to not pack up the Wii and bring it back.

I am looking towards the future when there may be a Wii game that will allow me to experience Wii Euphoria.

Fight Night producer ponders Wii version

"Its almost more effective to just windmill, thats what my wife does and she wins a lot."

LOL...that what mine does...and she beats me all the time. I try to get to fancy and get frustrated that only 1 out of every 3 punches actually register.....

I do hope the Wii get some good games....beause Wii Sports is 14 minutes and 59 seconds into it's 15 minutes of fame.

Wii Zelda reaches one million in US sales

Feb 9th 2007 5:01PM (Joystiq)
I will be flamed for this, but I rented Zelda the day after I purchased my Wii, and played the game for about 2 hours, before returning it. I did not like this game one bit. To be fair, I am not sure if I can blame the game, but I have been playing HD games on my 51” HDTV now for well over 3 years (before my Xbox 360, I had my PC connected), and the visuals in Zelda was enough to make me cringe. I looked past the under-achieving visuals, as we all know that great graphics do not make a game fun. But after about 2 hours of muddling about in the game, I found it not to be any fun.

I have tried several other titles for the Wii, including Wario, and was disappointed by all of ‘em. If it was not for WiiSports, a demo of a game if I ever saw one, I would not even touch my Nintendo Wii. I will give the system time to mature and get a few good games, but I think the Wii will never by my main gaming system, but more of a party console built only for mini-games.
