AgfaPhoto rolls out rugged, waterproof DV-600uw camera

Jun 30th 2009 11:02AM (Engadget)
"AgfaPhoto's new DV-600uw." You're kidding, right? The camera says DC-600uw on it. Either Agfa screwed up the printing on its own camera, or someone isn't looking at the picture they've posted with their article.

A history of Macintosh gaming

Jun 22nd 2009 12:20PM (TUAW.com)
Misses tons of early games, like Balance of Power, Uninvited, Airborne, etc.

Really poorly researched. It comes off more like a history of this guy's Mac games.

Rumor: Warhammer 40K shooter in the works

Hey, it's God-Emperor Servant of War!

I actually think it looks very cool graphically, though the 1 vs 100 type of gameplay doesn't strike me as particularly faithful to the WH40k universe.

I can understand what they're trying to do with "cinemaction" (cough...), but they better disable the direction inputs while those scenes kick in, as that type of sudden camera change can be really disorienting.

I'll second the request for a modern Space Hulk. I played the heck out of the 3DO version.

Loud pipes beware - photo enforcement now targeting noise violators

Long overdue. Loud=safe is silly. If someone is in a well-insulated car with the music on in the middle of freeway traffic, he's still not likely to hear the open pipe bike that wakes everyone up in a 10 block radius at night.

"The "smart" car doesn't look so "smart" now, does it?
Let's face it, a two seater is pretty impractical - and not only that, the "smart" car (original) is quite claustrophobic for some people (I've read) and in fact, in a British road test I've read, the tester said it was difficult to keep the windows clear of mist just from his breathing - not to mention a 2nd passenger. Too small of an interior area..... "

Are you kidding? I've been in a bunch of Smarts, and they actually feel extremely spacious considering how tiny they look from the outside, and the windshield isn't that close to passengers at all. I've felt more confined in most traditional (ie, pre-Renault Twingo, which really launched the small yet spacious movement) subcompacts.

2007 Chrysler Aspen: official pics and specs

Ack. This looks like bland rebadging of the sort GM would do. I thought the Durango looked good, though like more of a supersized Liberty (rear light setup, and everything after the A pillar) in terms of styling, compared to the hard edges of the Dakota, for instance. This is really disappointing, after the Crossfire, Pacifica, and 300.

2007 Jeep Compass: official specs and photos

I do think it's ugly compared to the concepts. The concepts hinted at a Jeep rally type of car, which would have looked great in a Paris-Dakar race. This, especially from the front 3/4 view, looks bloated.

On the other hand, some of the interior innovations are clever, like the detachable flashlight, drop-down speakers for tailgates, iPod cradle, etc. If only they could marry those utilitarian features with a proper, decent looking off-road vehicle...
