Jun 18th 2007 12:25AM (Joystiq)
I went for the strikers one, mostly coz i've been playing it all week. So much fun. Is it out in the states yet? Or has australia finally gotten an awesome wii game before everyone else.

Wii Zelda reaches one million in US sales

@ Slaziman

Yeah, that's what i was trying to say. Congrats on saying it more concisely than i could manage.

I REALLY dont get why people whine and bitch about the graphics on the wii or the DS. Remember the original Playstation? Graphics were worse than the DS, but it was still awesome.

Technology advances and we have access to greater graphics, true, but really, do dont always need to. Great things can be accomplished with simple visuals. Wii sports keeps coming up in this discussion. You rarely even pay attention to the graphics in wii sports because you're concentrating more on your own movements.

And in relation to zelda, i loved it, big fan of the TP. Moreso than LTTP. I simply found the story to be more engaging, the characters more fleshed out.

Oh, and complete agreement on Midna being the best character in any zelda game. She was AWESOME. Specially the ending. (only just finished it a couple of days ago).

Anyways, now i've started on WW, but i think i'll put that in hiatus on 22 Feb when FFXII comes out here in Aus.

Weekly Webcomic Wrapup: Bleach edition

I dont mind CAD, but then i enjoy character driven stories.

But this week it's definitely Dinosaur Comics. Ryan North is an absolutely brilliant writer, to be able to come up with some absolute gems week after week.

Weekend heartwarmer: "Claim your DS!"

Jan 21st 2007 5:15AM (Joystiq)
Found a digital camera a little while ago at a cafe. Asked the cafe staff if they knew whose it was and they said no, but offered to hold onto it.

I left my friends at the cafe, mid meal, and I took it to the police instead, spent a few minutes giving them details and as i did, the owners walked in. They were thankful and when i got back i found that they had actually covered the cost of my meal while i had been gone.

Honesty pays people.

What's inside the Big Box Project?

Jan 21st 2007 12:23AM (Joystiq)
RAMX, you dont agree to the warranty before you purchase the product, you agree to it upon purchasing said product. You are more than entitled to read the warranty and ask questions in relation to it before the purchase of a several hundred dollar piece of hardware. Then, if you arent happy with the terms of the warranty, you dont have to buy the product.

Fairly simple really. Kinda like looking at fruit in the supermarket. You check to see if it's rotten before you put it in the trolley. Poor analogy, but you get the idea.

Also, not defending microsoft, because they've done nothing that needs defending.

Ergh, i hate this guy. "something isn't working, and the company are doing everything they are legally obliged to do, yet i feel i deserve stuff for free, even though the only thing i've done to earn it (and i use the term 'earn' very loosely) is be mildly inconvenienced."

I hate that mentallity. Things break, it's getting fixed. You gotta buy a box and pay for postage. Deal with it. You agreed to accept the conditions of that warranty when you bought the product. You didnt have to buy the product if you didnt like the warranty conditions.

GAH.

Sorry, i work for the abovementioned Department of Fair Trading. I hate it when people expect shit for free, or they complain when they've already accepted the terms and conditions of the warranty (by purchasing the product) without actually reading it.

Another Silent Hill film in the cards

Dec 27th 2006 5:13PM (Joystiq)
My experience with this movie can be summed up by a quote from calculon from futurama.

"That was so terrible, i think it gave me cancer!"

Seriously, i thought it was just awful! Perhaps i need to play the games or something. But the way i saw it, little to no real plot until the flashback, then the whole thing is revealed in five minutes, followed by the completely unneccessary "barbed wire love" scene.

Seriously, with that bit in particular, it's like someone had this idea years ago, thought it was cool, and was finally given the chance to put it into film. It's like something out of a hentai film or something.

Pokemon struggles on Wii

@6 - Artimus

Ok, calm down dude, it was reported as a news item, nothing more. And it hasnt done as well as executives would have hoped. He HAS actually got his facts straight there. In fact, it's such a small article, that there's no room for anything BUT facts.

Chill bro.

Real men Wii standing up?

Dec 21st 2006 7:24PM (Joystiq)
'1337' speak is this generation's 'hip hop for white guys'.

Snake, people like something that you dont, 'oh noes'

The way i see it, 1.8 million people (and rising every time there is a new shipment) is fairly compelling evidence that SOMEONE out there is enjoying the console.

Foolishness.
