Review: Splinter Cell: Conviction

Apr 13th 2010 10:50AM (Joystiq)
Well said, Sire!
You are right about the graphics. It's not that important mentioning if it doesn't give us anything we haven't seen differently from what the secreenshots gave us, or if there's nothing "wowing" in it.
I was a bit curious about the story though, but you have answered it. It felt indifferent.

Thanks, J-Man.
Can't wait for the podcast!

Review: Splinter Cell: Conviction

You left a lot in this review, Justin. Sorry, but I got to say it.
How did you feel about the story? Was it good, bad, indifferent?? Did the story drove you to complete the game, giving you that extra oomph/motivation that God of War laked? How's the co-op or the multiplayer?
Are there new or fun gadgets?
Even the graphical part of it, you left out!
I'm a great fan of your reviews, Justin.
But this one.......was a bit weak, I'm sorry to say.
Still...
Love you, J-Man!

Even more Monkey Island 2: Special Edition screenshots surface

Apr 10th 2010 5:38AM (Joystiq)
Lord, these look good!!
I want it bad!!
I love Monkey Island! Just seeing these shots makes me go back quite some years.
Also, I agree. Grim Fandango, please... But try to get the original voice cast. And Maniac Mansion would be great, also. Loom, Full Throttle, Fate of Atlantis(never happening...).
This is how a proper homage is the done to a game. Remake the graphics, keep the art style, keep the dialogue, keep most of the mechanics, Just a graphica clean-up and voice cast and..Boom. You got it.
Square-Enix should hire these guys to remake Final Fantasy VII before they do decide to remake it and taint the original.
This is the sort of treatment an FF VII remake needs. No more, no less. Just graphical update and (proper)voice cast.
Don't change the story, don't change the progression, don't change the characters(even the NPCs), don't change the music drastically(just remix it or "modernize" it, though. Nobuo Uematsu has already done that, in fact), and just do a slight tweak to the fighting mechanics.
Boom! Proper remake, and really what the fans are asking for. NOT a major remake, I wouldn't trust Square-Enix to do that in a proper way.

Capcom: Super Street Fighter IV will be the last Street Fighter IV

That's one creepy screenshot...
I've never seen a construction worker wearing a pink leopard-printed T and pink pink zebra pants!! Lol.
Also that helmet doesn't seem like it will protect him much in case of an accident since it's about 2 sizes below the guy's head.
And has the guy behind him got an eye-patch?

Only in Metro City, I guess...

I guess that you're right in a way. Any band following The Beatles would always be inferior.
However, if you told me Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, The Who or Pink Floyd, I wouldn't feel as indifferent as I do with Greenday.
Even you have to admit it, come on.
In any case, I guess there might be fans of the band who are axcited about this.
But even for the fans........Kind of a small track list and apparently a lot of favorites left out.
DLC, I guess.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow began as remake of NES original

Aren't almost all of Castlevania games remakes? How many more remakes did we need?
It's good to see they're going on a different direction.
And I do hope there is a lot of Kojima in this game. Meaning, crazyness!! Yes, I want it!
