LA Noire offers a video 'Orientation'

Feb 9th 2011 5:51PM (Joystiq)
@Abel Android I see. You do not know about the history of L.A Noire, or about Team Bondi. Nice attempt to come across like you know what you are talking about, but sadly, you do not.

Ok, let us look at L.A Noire. It started out as a project being funded by SCEA. However, Sony pulled funding on the game because deadlines were being missed and other issues. Sony in short were not happy and wanted out. The game that was penned as a PS3 exclusive then passed hands to Rockstar.

At this point, the game was pegged for next generation consoles as can be seen on the Team Bondi site from back in late 05 or 06. Team Bondi are an independent studio, with a title being published by Rockstar.

Rockstar and Sony came to an agreement to make The Agent a PS3 exclusive.

Rockstar San Diego, formerly Angel Studios was acquired by Take-Two in 2002. Show me evidence for Team Bondi being acquired.

(In future, provide evidence when you talk about something. Though maybe your internet presence would be non existent because you'd see just because you think it, doesn't make it true.)

@AlphaJace Absolutely true. For a long time, hearing nothing on the game, I did get worried that the game wouldn't live up to my hopes. I came to a point of hoping it would inspire other developers to take a go at this type of game.

This was long before MotionScan or any information was going on about the game, and going 2 years to the teambondi.com site and not seeing any updates.

@AlphaJace While I've been hyped for this game since 2006, I would classify this game as a model of technology not of originality. Stories like this have been around since the 30s.

Technology will push the medium of gaming forward, most certainly. But to call this originality is ignoring the source material from which this type of story is derived.

@eat it What the hell are you going on with pronunciation? What does that have to do with my comment? Reread, please.

*Wonders how many people don't get that Team Bondi are the developers*

Anyway, can't wait for this game. Looks brilliant.

@ericelftmann There are far, far better noir films than L.A Confidential. Oh, and they were to be seen at least 5 decades before that particular movie.

"Harder? You only played the demo you said. How do you know how hard the full game was?"

It is inferred that from liking the demo, they went on to buy the game.

Fable 2 goes gold, now seeks platinum

"WHAT? A DEVELOPER ACTUALLY CLAIMING HIS PRODUCT IS THE BEST THING EVER??? THAT IS FUCKING UNHEARD OF AND IS WRONG!!!"

Unheard of, no. Wrong, kinda.

Fable was a tremendous disappointment compared to the hype. I'm not exactly eagerly anticipating this one.

DirectX 11 detailed; Vista and DX 10 / 10.1 hardware supported

I think its safe to say XP support is not something to be looking out for. I'm happy with XP, but some people here need to get a brain. If there is new Windows OS info, its not going to be XP related.
