Nov 4th 2009 3:26PM So Sony believes that FMV games are on a big comeback? Apparently we've come full circle now.

iPhone beats Wii, DS, PSP: 'fastest hardware growth in consumer tech history' {Joystiq}

Oct 23rd 2009 3:14PM If it were a gaming platform first and foremost, this might be meaningful. But it's not; it's a phone. And most people who get it are not going to use it primarily as a game platform, so despite fast growth, the iPhone doesn't have the numbers that matter to make it a viable contender against DS or PSP.

Aside from that, DS and PSP are platforms that won't change specs constantly, which makes them a stable environment for developers to work with. Apple releases new hardware every year, so how will games be able to take advantage of the new power and still remain backward compatible?

The phone as a true portable gaming platform that can compete with the big boys just isn't happening yet.
