Preview: DJ Hero 2

@whylekat
That soundtrack is one of my favorites to listen to while doing just about anything. Quite exceptional across the board. I really hope they can replicate the string of good mash-ups one after another like they did with the first.

Guitar Hero On Tour: Decades shreds retail November 16

Wait, wait, wait! Joystiq please tell me where did you guys hear that Queen (and in master form no doubt) was in any recent GH game? Where have I been? I'm looking at a list of confirmed tracks for this game now and don't see any Queen. Trust me if their gonna start putting Queen in music games I'm about to stampede Harmonix with request.

Watch and learn: DVD on Wii how-to video

Aug 13th 2008 9:13PM (Joystiq)
Yeah man those things work like ass. I've had three of those cheap DVD players and every time it either ruined my disc or crapped out. Now I use my 360. Lesson? Playing DVDs on a console may actually be worth it! OMFG! Just, ya know, don't buy the system for the DVD player. That's just stupid. But it's not a bad option at all.

Rock Band Weekly: Megadeth, Machine Head, Killswitch Engage, Dream Theater, DevilDriver, Airbourne

It's a rip-off if you actually paid for the mp3's. :P

Honestly though think you're asking for a bit much? I mean everytime a service offers somebodies music a buttload of people gotta get paid before iTunes, Harmonix, or Activision can put this stuff up. So say Harmonix did a joint thing with iTunes you'd have to charge so much that it makes more sense to download separately.

Especially because Harmonix ask for so much more than Apple. Harmonix needs master tracks and they need permission to edit the original work where they see fit. They need music sheets, conversion hardware for older masters, and the effort it takes to chart some of the more complex stuff. They need much more flexibility than a simple music download service needs.

Oh sweet, sweet, Constant Motion. The one instance I hope Harmonix does let you play the keyboard.

Harmonix: No Freezepop in RB2, maybe in the DLC

Jul 17th 2008 11:34AM (Joystiq)
That is pretty lame of Freezepop. I personally love Freezepop, and I understand their balancing issues and junk like that, but to move over to friggin' GH? LAME. Of course some of the blame has to be put onto Harmonix too. You can pay AC/DC but you can't pay Freezepop? I mean c'mon doesn't one of those guys work at Harmonix? Double lame. Shame on you both.

PlayStation Home's public areas region locked

Jul 17th 2008 12:14AM (Joystiq)
Really? Weird. I always applauded the PS3 for keeping everything region-free. It was one of my main excuses for buyin' one. That sucks. I wouldn't use it but it seems kind of inconsistent of Sony. Wonder what their reasoning is behind all this.
