Wikipedia sums up the confusion in four words: "Skate (marketed as skate.) [...]"
It's not ".skate", it's "Skate" (with a capital "S" and no initial period). You're thinking of the logotype on the first game, which is "skate." (with the period at the end and the name rendered in all lowercase). In no event is ".skate" correct. It's not .hack after all.
The series (and the first game) are called "Skate", despite the style of the logotype (just like Call of Duty is not CALL OF DUTY just because the name is rendered in all-caps on the game box) Annoyingly, PlayStation 3 was officially to be rendered as PLAYSTATION 3 up until the rebranding with the release of the Slim... but I digress.
HTML5 is supported right now, almost completely, in Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Opera. The ONLY browsers lagging behind are IE and mobiles.
Also, even the mobile build of WebKit in Android's mobile Chrome implementation supports much of HTML5 (though broad canvas support is noticeably absent).
The ESRB exists, but it's not governmental. Stores typically have policies in accordance with ESRB guidelines, but they are not required to do so. There's no governmental oversight. It's a much better system, in my opinion - informative, but not forceful.
Re: swords. History seems to suggest that the practice of keeping left has more to do with using the right hand to whip animals pulling carts than impromptu swashbuckling.
Re: roundabouts These are fairly common in any densely-inhabited part of the US, we just call them "traffic circles" -- the main reason for their exclusion here is more consistent use of right-angle intersections. Some cities look like cartesian graph paper, and have addresses to match:
Re: left-handedness Close. The figure is more like 93% right-handed.
Trivia: The largest left-hand-drive nation in the world by territory size is Australia. The largest by population is India. LHD-RHD nation borders often involve little more than a sign instructing you to switch over to the other side of the road, but sometimes elaborate side-switching bridges are used. Turning right on a red light in a LHD country is a good way to get your ass killed.
You, sir, are a colossal idiot. Hacking is not illegal unless you are hacking something you do not own. You can't go to jail for doing something legal.
Using the same logic, I could say you should go to jail for being stupid -- because being stupid is, unfortunately, not a crime.
What we are discussing here is a technique for hacking a special-purpose computer to function as a general-purpose computer, not hacking bank software to email someone your account number.
The SDK is remaining closed until the phones' launch for two reasons. First, nobody wants their future platform's reputation squashed by bugs that didn't get caught making it out in a premature release by some other company. Secondly, Google understandably wants to get Android out there before derivatives start cropping up.
I'd recommend AoE but AoE III really disappointed me. So then I'd recommend Civ but I got bored of the demo in about twelve seconds...
...sooo, given the choice, I'd flip a quarter.
Heads: put it back in your pocket Tails: flip it over, re-evaluate Quarter lands on its edge and rolls over a Ouija board spelling the name of one or the other game: you know what to do =)

Dec 27th 2007 11:35AM (Engadget)Actually, these are the first outdoor electronic signs ever employed by the FBI... The point here is not the technology -- it never really is.
Multi-touch is why some people like the iPhone, but multi-touch has been around since the eighties. It's the application that made it unique.
Same deal here. Large-scale electronic signage has been affordable by government types for a long while now, but this is a creative application.
No doubt this will leverage that new public safety channel to be coming on line in the 700MHz band.
