Microsoft goes baller with chromed out 360 controllers

Apr 2nd 2012 5:00PM (Joystiq)
@refinedsugar It's got at least a year left, which is a long time to sell shiny new controllers, and then as Durango (or whatever) winds up you still sell a heck of a lot of old systems.

It may also work on the new system, because I can't really see why a new Playstation or Xbox system shouldn't be able to at least use the Sixaxis/X360 controllers, which are the about as good as controllers get (yes, I know, Logitech and Madcatz fans). Only reasons would be pure greed or some sort of stupid mandatory gimmick (like tilt control).

Report: Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP coming to Steam

F#4$ yeah. I've been really happy to see lots of formerly platform locked games like Stacking and Pixeljunk Eden coming to Steam. And I buy them.

SimCity will not support mods at launch

I'm guessing the mod support will go in after the expansion packs are released.

Fallout: The first modern role-playing game

God yes, the UI is horrible (now - back in the day, who knew better?). But the good news is that you can get used to it, and once you get used to it you're all set for Fallout 2, since they're (almost) identical.

Yep, Gabe Newell is a billionaire

Mar 8th 2012 12:19AM (Joystiq)
This is a bit silly since Gabe couldn't get at that money without destroying Valve, which I am fairly sure he wouldn't do.

It's not like having $1.5B in Microsoft stock which you can sell without destroying the company (though it'd depress it if you sold it all at once).

But eh, as long as he continues to use it for Good, the guy deserves it. It's the only major video game company that puts the customer first.

'Hexagon' is Terry Cavanagh's latest jam

@Agikamike It seems quite likely the control looseness is on purpose, but now I am just curious how long I could survive even with perfect control.

'Hexagon' is Terry Cavanagh's latest jam

Half of the brutality of this game comes from the controls - the arrows just don't work well. I used Joy2Pad and a X360 controller to do a bit better, and having analog stick where you could just point to the destination (upper left to go to upper left) would be even better, but a Tempest controller would be fantastic.

Final Fantasy Tactics: The War of the Lions hits iPad for $18

Japanese devs are too slow and hidebound at this point to compete. They need to charge you super-premium prices for old re-releases. How about that Jet Grind Radio port, ehhhhh?

Unless they're Platinum or maybe Capcom or have their little niche like Atlus, this is ALL THEY HAVE LEFT.

Be gentle.

How to update a Vita game

Feb 15th 2012 9:04PM (Joystiq)
Welcome to the Future, where you can't even pick up and play a f@34ing handheld game without blowing all your playing time on software updates and forced firmware upgrades!

If you're going to do this at least do it like Android Market and have it optionally download and install automatically while you're not doing anything else.

'Girl Fight' is pretty much what it sounds like

That sounds Painfully 80's Extr33me Rad!

Wait, don't tell me the girls are psychic lesbians with an Attitude.
