EA still in running for The Consumerist's Worst Company in America

Mar 27th 2012 3:05PM (Joystiq)
@(Unverified)

You wouldn't happen to be one of those astroturfers they openly wanted to hire, would you? Because you sure look like some marketer that tries to fit in but just doesn't manage.

Journey travels to PS Plus members one week early

Mar 2nd 2012 6:03PM (Joystiq)
They hold back a finished game for normal customers for one week. For absolutely no reason; it's all done and ready to be distributed. And morons are actually praising it.

This is some seriously bad journalism, by the way. You're not their personal hype machine, so stop acting like it. In no way are PS Plus members getting it early; they simply delayed it for all the people who don't pay extra. It's an obvious money-grubbing scheme and you'd have to be blind to not see through it.

Saying that the members get it early may be a technical truth, but only in the same way that it's technically true that paying a guy to not kill you is increasing your life span. Technically true, but sure as hell not sound reasoning.

Dark Side 'Cause It Looks Cool: The Failings of Moral Choice in Games

Feb 10th 2012 9:57PM (Joystiq)
You really should play The Witcher next. It's similar to Dragon Age in that it doesn't focus on good or bad, but it does a far better job at it. And, as already mentioned, your choices don't have consequences immediately. Something small you did near the start can come back to bite you in the ass or help you later on when you least expect it.

The game focuses a hell of a lot more on each choice and its circumstances, rather than sticking to a good/evil character type.

And as many others have already told you, The Wither 2 changes extremely much depending on your choices.

Report: Crysis 2 is the most pirated game of 2011

Jan 4th 2012 7:58AM (Joystiq)
It's funny. They made a console game out of Crysis, the PC flagship. What did the PC gamers do? Say "screw you" and pirated it. Crysis had sold over three million copies one and a half year ago, so don't give me any crap about PC gamers never buying games.

It's as they say: treat PC gamers with respect and they reward you. Give them console ports and they are more likely to revolt compared to console players which are, in general, more likely to eat up any crap they get served.

Anyone looking forward to The Witcher 3, with a simultaneous release on Wii?

Today only: 40% off just about everything on Origin

Dec 12th 2011 3:41PM (Joystiq)
Meanwhile, gog.com has everything for 50% off, and you're not forced to give your money to a bunch of idiots who deserve a lynching rather then profits.

In other words, you're everything wrong with the industry if you buy something from Origin. While you're at it, why not buy $15 recycled map packs for CoD and support Ubisoft's DRM?

"Why do they keep ruining things?! brb voting with my wallet by giving them money"

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developer GSC shut down

@Dick Socrates

Except they sold quite a few copies.

Skyrim PC patch arrives, adds mandatory Steam DRM, kills some tweaks

Nov 22nd 2011 11:16PM (Joystiq)
@Rengar
Your last paragraph is just incredibly stupid. "Corruption will never be eliminated entirely, so it's here to say. You shouldn't try to stop it." That some jackass has decided that DRM won't go away doesn't mean a damn thing.

And no, it's not effective. Go look at any torrent site. What will you find there? Fallout 3, New Vegas, and Oblivion. Most likely Skyrim, too. Pirates will never be stopped, and the only ones that are getting punished are the legitimate customers. Anyone that isn't a complete moron can tell that DRM doesn't stop piracy. Of course, publishers can't tell, and then go "boo hoo the evil PC users, all of whom are pirates, stole our game! that's the only reason it didn't sell well, and that it was a terrible console port with DRM has nothing to do with it. why should we have to treat our customers well just to get them to give us their money?!"

Watch My Intro, Touch My Katamari

It wasn't as good as the intro to Everyone Loves Katamari.

Then He started dancing.

Not How It Looks Theater presents: Mega Man X (isn't) in UMvC3

Nov 12th 2011 4:42PM (Joystiq)
If only people had some damn integrity. Capcom have been taking a long dump on their fans for years now. What do the fans do? They buy every new Super Ultra Turbo Edition, Now With More Day One DLC!. The fans complain and complain about Capcom, yet the idiots still buy their games.

As much as I want Rayman Origins, I won't be buying it. Why? Because I have any amount of integrity and Ubisoft have been a major contender for the position of biggest asshat in the gaming industry for a long time now. And it would only be a good thing if Ancel left and started his own studio.

Stop buying their games if they keep treating you like crap, you morons.

Naughty Dog responds to Uncharted 3 aiming concerns

Nov 3rd 2011 8:15PM (Joystiq)
Haven't played it, but as console developers, they really need to realize that controllers aren't meant for fast, precise aiming at things that move quickly. As such, they need to design the game with that in mind. Judging by this, it sounds like they haven't done that.
