Looking for raid, or looking for trade?

Feb 15th 2012 1:06PM (WoW)
Just got Maw of the Dragonlord a couple of minutes ago off a priest who already had it. He just gave it to me. It 's like a Pinata in there and I knew going into it. Leave it alone - if I want the gear I will do the real raid other than that the only thing I will count on is the easy valor.

Kotick questions how SWTOR will benefit EA

Dec 3rd 2011 10:50AM (Massively)
It is absurd that SWTOR want print money for both EA and LA. I own a gamestore and lan center in Los Angeles and currently have three WoW accounts for myself and my son. My family and every customer in my store has preordered SWTOR and played in Beta. We all plan on playing current WoW content through and suspending our accounts to concentrate on the fresh leveling and PvP experiences in SWTOR. That's a ton of gamers switching over right down the street from Mr. Kotick's office. I see the spending habits of gamers for more than 70 hours a week for over three years now and they are overwhelmingly pointed towards SWTOR in the same fashion that most console gamers flock to COD.

EA showing off 'marquee' title in 3D at this year's E3

May 13th 2010 10:54AM (Joystiq)
I have had stereoscopic 3d for a year now on my PC - it was cute for a moment with some ridiculously high end gear. It is just a pain in the ass most of the time. Charge the glasses - Remove the glasses to see anything outside the game. 99 percent of the time I don't even bother.

Zelnick: OnLive 'beneficial' to gaming industry, doesn't fit with Take-Two's business model

latency - controllers
latency - video
latency - hardware to television/monitor
no trade in value makes you really think about the purchase = less games sold for sure

i like the fact that games feel like baseball cards with their value

i don't even use streaming on my directv or xbox 360 let alone for a game

dedicated players are so freaked over latency they use wired controllers on their fps games - and it helps

Left 4 Dead 2 commercial hits a home run ... for GameStop

Oct 27th 2009 10:45AM (Joystiq)
I hate GameStop because I own an independent game store that kicks the living shit out of them and I can't get ANY exclusives. I think I am gonna start counting these exclusives and for every one they get I'll open a better game store next to them. I have already knocked a quarter of million dollars in sales out of the one next to my first store and we are still growing exponentially. Please support the independents in your area. They are almost always gamers who actually give a shit about other gamers..

PSA: Microsoft not planning Blu-ray drive for 360

Oct 22nd 2009 7:54PM (Joystiq)
I WILL NOT pay to download games or full length features I want to own through LIVE. I have two kids and I never know where I am going to have to play the game or movie. Piss Off MS. I like my games and the fact that they have a value outside what I pay for them. If I want to trade a P.O.S. in for another game I would like that option. BTW BluRay holds up against kid's scratches way better than regular DVD's and that is why I buy all my films for the PS3 I never play.

This is what the God of War Collection will look like on your PS3

Oct 19th 2009 11:18AM (Joystiq)
Not even a big fan of the PS3 but that upgrade looks great. Congrats to Santa Monica Studios on that one. Guess I'll be using the PS3 for something more than movies this holiday. Sorry, not the only reason, Uncharted 2 is great.

Borderlands devs heading out for midnight launches in Texas

Oct 16th 2009 8:51PM (Joystiq)
I stand corrected. I was under the impression they developed the game in Austin. I grew up in Richardson and worked at Los Rios Country Club in Plano through High School. I went to Berkner in Richardson. None of that excuses the fact that as a developer they could have supported a great mom and pop shop in the area instead of a crappy company based in the area that does very little for the gaming community or charities in general with their billion dollar revenue. Independent game stores constantly get shit on because of exclusives and other special crap given to GameStop while the same developers will cry about used game sales and how they hurt their industry. I have absolutely no sympathy for any of them. It is after all business and GameStop does it very poorly regardless of their revenue and size. I will continue to eat them alive in my area and continue to grow and consume more of their market share while giving superior customer service and it doesn't cost me a penny more.
