Yeah games consoles are toys. It's time we all just accepted it for what it is and stopped pretending like it's a cool thing to do. It's the gamers that take these things really seriously that make the rest of us look like losers.
I'm not saying this game won't be playable on a 8800. In fact, i've already bet £350 on the fact that it will. I'm saying that it won't be playable on max settings with a single card.
I'd just spent about £400 on a 7800 when oblivion came out, it was a top of the range, bleeding edge card at the time. I got about 20fps on max settings.
If this game runs above that with the gfx on full i'll be very suprised.
I don't have that information, but since the 8800gtx wasn't out at the time I doubt it.
If you look at the video posted above the framerate seems to get quite choppy in places so I doubt the game will be playable on its highest settings using any single card for at least 6 months.
No, what I am saying, AI, is that the game you will be playing on your brand spanking new rig will not look as good as the screenshots and vids the devs use to promote the game. DO YOU UNDERSTAND???
Don't even think the game will look like that. A 8800gtx can only run oblivion at about 40fps with the settings on full. And how long has that been out?
It kind of pisses me off how developers release screencaps and videos of games knowing full well hardly anyone is going to be able to play it like that.
Someone needs to tell these guys to make games for technology that people can actually go out and buy when the games is released. Not a year later.
I'd just like to point out by the way that a floating point number means a number with decimal places. To suggest that 3D graphics are computed using only whole numbers is fucking retarded.
I hate it when people claim to own whatever system it is they have it in for in an atempt to look unbiased. This isn't directed at anyone in particular and obviously, I can't prove anything either way. It's just a feeling I get sometimes...
And also, most of what Video Encyclopedia is saying is at best half true. And at worst complete bullshit. "Floating Point math calculations have virtually no use in videogame graphics!"
