Bulletstorm's enemies: An army of clones

@s0ber seriously. best movie no one has seen. total classic.

Stick an analog stick to your iPad

@(Unverified) Yeah, I think before they include something like this for free we might want them to include an AC adapter with the iPods first. $400 + tax for an iPod Touch and you can't even charge it without connecting it to a computer... that's insane.

Team Ninja head sounds off on 3DS development, motion control

@Mr Fister

What? You're telling me that the original creator of Metroid, who had absolutely nothing to do with the creation of this game, forced Team Ninja to...

- have the overly long cutscenes and insultingly stupid narration
- to change Samus' entire personality
- to give Samus all of the upgrades from the beginning but have her choose not to use them until instructed
- and top it off with broken gameplay courtesy of the silly 'aim the wiimote at the screen to shoot missiles' nonsense

Give me a break. They changed the characters, the atmosphere, the gameplay, and the progression of capabilities-- basically all of the core principles of the Metroid series-- _for the worse_ and somehow it's Sakamoto's fault?

Team Ninja head sounds off on 3DS development, motion control

Not to be too harsh, but I'd be more interested in reading their thoughts if they hadn't just wrapped up the total insult and abomination to one of my favorite franchises that was Other M.

'So, you just completely ruined the Metroid franchise for everyone.... what are you excited about doing next?"

Move-It: the stick-on recyclable cardboard trolley (video)

Interesting idea. The real question I think is-- is that a woman or a man in the picture? One would assume man from the waist area and the hands, but then the "we're not in Kansas anymore" red shoes suggest otherwise.

HP tells employees webOS tablet coming Q1 2011

@engadget fanboy Agreed on the observation that people need to understand these devices are different than laptops. But your nits on Windows 7 are misplaced, and basically wrong. Windows 7 runs fine on a huge range of hardware, including netbooks with Atom processors. It's not 'too generic' or 'too complicated' to run reliably either, I have 5 separate Windows 7 machines between myself, my wife and my parents that are all rock solid stable. Do a clean install, put Microsoft's free antivirus (Security Essentials) on it, Office and Firefox and you are good to go.

And that's to me what's so frustrating about the PC manufacturers here. Literally all they have to do is take one of their Win7 netbooks, flip the screen over, make it a touchscreen, and ship it. Win7 has a fine soft keyboard, but they could improve it if they like. Sure it would be harder to use than an iPad, but it would also instantly be far more versatile and powerful-- MS Office, Flash, USB device connectivity, the list of things it could do that the iPad can't is a mile long and would easily outweigh (to me) the things it doesn't do as well as the iPad.

Alleged Kinect hardware specs claim two active player limit

Jun 30th 2010 10:58AM (Joystiq)
@showie Oh come on now, don't be so negative. I mean, the last major add-on to the 360, the HD-DVD drive, was smashingly successful and extremely well supported remember? Oh wait...

Microsoft Store website lists Kinect for $149.99

Jun 22nd 2010 8:18AM (Joystiq)
@s ls And how much 3rd party support do you think we're going to see for a ridiculously overpriced add-on that also requires games to be specifically designed for it? Basically ZERO.

I was always more intrigued by the Move, because it offers precision. The fact that I'll be able to get 'Move'-ing for just $50 (already have an Eye) is important, but also that there will be patches for some games I already own. I think Sony is going to see a lot of patches to older games and then basically all FPS' moving forward will offer a control scheme for it, which will really drive a lot of people to go out and get a Move. The Kinect on the other hand-- $150 up front cost on top of an Xbox is just way too much, way too much for Kinectimals at least.

New $199 Xbox 360 coming this fall

Jun 21st 2010 7:10PM (Joystiq)
@Joeybeast No offense, but blaming the people who sold you an Xbox 360 that ends up not working right for a customer and disappointing kids... that's Gamestop's fault not theirs. You don't test stuff properly as a policy, which means you're fine selling customers systems that you don't even know work properly. If you want happy customers, test them decently (by sending them to a place that tests them and refurbishes before reselling) or do the smart thing and don't be stupid enough to try to make money reselling the most unreliable console ever made. Blaming the people that take advantage of the fact that Gamestop is dumb enough to pay $100 for a piece of crap is ridiculous, you set the terms of the deal not them.

@R Planteer I'd definitely go for it. The worst that can happen is they don't let you trade that one in, and they break constantly anyways (I was on RROD repair #4 until I caved a while back and just bought a falcon Elite). I wouldn't feel too guilty about trying to do it knowing it's got some problems either... anyone who would actually buy a used 360, from Gamestop of all places, is an idiot.
