SO pleased to see fallout and planescape at the top- for anyone who's not dabbled with either of these titles- PICK THEM UP. they're cheap, and they'll both stay with you for the rest of your life.
Fallout 2 in particular still offers more geniune freedom of action than any other game i've ever seen- sure morrowind's got miles of beautiful landscapes, but fallout's scope in terms of what it lets you do, and what it lets you SAY (more importantly) is seemingly boundless at times.
