Guitar Hero 5 and Band Hero: December DLC
Dec 3rd 2009 12:47AM (Joystiq)FINALLY! I've been waiting soo long for one of the two games to release a track pack for them. I'm so glad that GH5 did it first.
Review: DJ Hero
Oct 27th 2009 8:04PM (Joystiq)The song was recorded by Steve Vai somewhere along the Halo 2 period. When people started hacking GH2 and putting this song, everyone went nuts for it. People thought the song was cool, and when they heard that it might come out for GH2, people got excited. It didn't make it in time for GH2, but then Bungie and Activision teamed up and they released it on GH3 instead. The idea behind the song isn't dumb at all. In fact, not putting the song up would've been the dumb idea. Not only that, but it was free, and fun to play.
I mean, it's certainly a better idea than SELLING The Naked Brothers Band music on RB, or Miranda Cosgrove for OMGFREEWTFHAX. They aren't even rock.
I can't argue on who sells better DLC, and nor should you, or anybody else, since not everybody has the same taste in music.

Review: The Beatles: Rock Band
Sep 6th 2009 1:02AM (Joystiq)Singing will probably be a challenge, but I'm no singer, so this isn't for me.
BTW, Beatles and Metallica are completely different genres, and appeal to different people. They aren't better than each other. It's okay for them to co-exist.

Report: Only 35 songs from Guitar Hero World Tour work with GH5 [update]
Sep 1st 2009 11:04PM (Joystiq)DLC excels in machines that are connected to the Internet. If I'm playing on an XBOX in my room connected to live, everything is perfectly fine. However, if I'm using a different hard drive/xbox combination, I most likely have to be connected to the internet to use the songs.
With discs, although you buy everything in $60 bundles, you can use all the songs on the disc offline and online. Releasing numerous games instead of a lot of DLC means you can play a lot more songs offline than online.
Shifting my point towards GH5 now.
I didn't follow up on any other news other than the track list until two days ago. My bro bought the game today, and I'm impressed with how amazing the game turned out to be. I've been reading some reviews on the game and a lot of them say pretty interesting things about the game and Neversoft. I picked some examples of quotes that called my attention:
Planet XBOX 360:
"Many people thought Guitar Hero 5 was going to be just another set of songs, after spending hours with the retail build we found out that the exact opposite was true – this game will hit fans with a totally fresh experience, one that is worth every penny of the upgrade cost."
"It sounds crazy to say but we were so impressed with our time with Guitar Hero 5 that we can honestly say it will be giving The Beatles: Rock Band and DJ Hero a run for it’s money in the “best music game of 2009” category. We didn’t expect nearly as many new features or gameplay upgrades/additions that the developers over at Neversoft included and more then once we found ourselves saying the word “wow” out loud while reviewing the game."
IGN:
"Neversoft really did go all out making sure that the presentation for Guitar Hero 5 is top notch. It's received such an upgrade that it's easy to overlook the small gameplay tweaks."
Gametrend:
"It is clear that the folks at Neversoft listened intently to the feedback we gave them. They've read the forums, and they've made the changes that we all wanted to see."
Maybe you guys should try playing the game with an open mind before bashing it without giving it a chance. They're trying to make changes to your liking, but it's no use if you guys keep on setting it off without even trying it.
This better not get down voted just because it's Pro-GH. It's not only my opinion i'm stating, and it took a lot of reading and compiling to make.
Guitar Hero 5 ad features Hugh Hefner, plethora of Playboy Bunnies
Aug 29th 2009 8:17PM (Joystiq)Were the purple notes not new?
How about how you can hold notes and strum different ones at the same time?
Now we have the Party play option in which we can play with whatever combination of instruments we want, instead of having someone settle for vocals, or drums, or bass.
AND they are giving away GH: Van Halen if you pre-order. That's 30+ free songs, buddy!
What did RB do? Last notable thing they ever did was introduce the Drums and Vocals, and that was the first thing they did. For RB2, there was no revolutionary jump. I mean you could transfer all your RB1 crap to RB2, but you could do that with your Death Magnetic album, and now all your WT crap. Rock Band raised the bar when it first came out, but since then, it hasn't moved much, compared to Guitar Hero, who has been introducing new features in every game.
Nice trolling there, buddy.
