Dragon Age 2 writer responds to complaint about BioWare neglecting 'straight male' demographic
Mar 26th 2011 4:22PM (Joystiq)I'm not sure how that justifies what the name-callers do though.

Mar 26th 2011 4:03PM (Joystiq)When it is 100% one-sided. When it isn't reciprocated with human decency in return. When it just provides a new platform for new attacks. Or when you use force to take something away from one person in order to be "decent" and give it to another.
Who is doing the name calling? Who said or implied I'd enjoy murdering people? What is decent about that?
Why should one side be "decent" in response to indecent attacks from the other? Why reward name-callers and censors with understanding? Every time you reward it, they'll keep doing it more and more until you stop rewarding it.

Mar 25th 2011 2:49PM (Joystiq)That might not be what you are saying, but it describes exactly what "Athena" is doing.
Bad things happened to gays in the past, therefore gays should never be questioned, they should never be held to any standard, they should automatically get whatever they want, and everyone in society has the duty to cater to their preferences on every subject. And if you don't, you're just like the murderers.
Some of us don't think society should be set up with those sorts of rules. I'm not willing to be pushed around by grievance-mongers and censors. You, apparently, are.

Mar 25th 2011 2:20PM (Joystiq)"We think BioWare should seize this opportunity and release some DLC: the big, gaudy, golden "Necklace of Nohomo" that grants +2 against "unwanted advances" -- then donate the proceeds to the Matthew Shepard Foundation."
Athena said I wanted to stone gays. But then that message got deleted somehow.
The message is clear: not wanting to be repeatedly propositioned by gay guys is wrong and probably means you are a violent criminal.
(And I didn't even say that, I was just pointing out the double standard and the ridiculous political correctness of people exactly like Athena who are ready to censor and name-call anyone who doesn't openly show favoritism to gay people.)

Mar 25th 2011 1:22PM (Joystiq)What did I say about gay people? Nothing. (Seriously, go back and read my comments. I said exactly nothing about gay people.)
Censors and name-callers like you, on the other hand, are a menace.
