Wii Opera browser beta now available

Dec 22nd 2006 5:17PM (Joystiq)
I've had absolutely no luck with Opera. I've downloaded it FIVE times and each time it freezes my Wii stiff. I get as far as the intro screen or sometimes the keyboard and BOOM it freezes stiff. This is really annoying and unfortunate. I have no problem getting online with the Wii. I have Connect24 running fine and I send emails, download VC titles, etc with NO trouble. I'm really disappointed as I looked forward to surfing my fav sites from the comfort of my sofa AND playing Wii Flash games. Major bummer!!!

Free VC games for Christmas? Keep dreaming

It wouldn't be the biggest surprise in the world if they offered up something free to Wii owners. After all they included a bunch of games with the GCN Animal Crossing and we only paid $50 for that. I think a $250 investment warrants at least one game as a thank you to all the Wii owners who have helped Nintendo climb into the #2 spot in the "Next Gen Wars."

Madden Wii explained by developers

Oct 19th 2006 3:27PM (Joystiq)
It's obvious that the Madden lifers are the most negative about the Wii concept. Fortunately for you there are 2 other consoles to play it on. For those of us who rather not spend weeks learning the very intricate dynamics of Madden, we have the Wii. A console that will allow us to use natural motions that we connect to the game of football. I personally would rather read through a massive deep rpg manual then spend days reading a boring ass Madden manual just to learn how to pass the fricking ball with some consistency. The Wii will not be for everyone but those who try it will likely be at least slightly amused enough to respect. Until then, everything else is just either hateration or fanboyism. Both deadly vices in the world of gaming.

New Wii marketing videos display smiles and bland living rooms

The gaming industry is very unpredictable. For any of you to assume you know the outcome of the next gen is without merit. Who knew Atari would fall? Who knew Nintendo would save gaming? Who knew Sega would fall? Who knew Sony would topple Nintendo? Who knew that Nintendo would continue to conquer the portable gaming market with consistently underpowered handhelds? Who knew Microsoft would be taken seriously? And the unpredicatableness of the gaming industry will continue. All this talk about the Wii being a gimmick and the PS3 being overpriced would lead one to think the the 360 is in line for the throne next gen.

Personally I think the Wii has the potential to be HUGE! The whole idea of making it accessible to EVERYONE is a very broad goal but one that if it pays off will wind up being the best decision in Nintendo's console history. However only time will tell and I've got my money of Nintendo pulling this off...
