I was in 8th grade when the PS2 came out. I remember making my mom take me to the shopping center in RVA that had a target, walmart, and bestbuy at 3AM to have me stand in line for one, but all three retailers were handing out tickets for consoles and had run out (yeah i know I could pre-ordered, but that was back in the day when gamestop pre-opened all your games and I didn't shop there out of principle).

So i was a sad little middle schooler for about 2.5 months. Then one snow day from school (january 2001), my mom came home all excited from work with a huge bag. Inside was a blue box with my treasure inside. Apparently a coworker had seen them at a walmart and bought all they had and gave them (ok sold them, but just at retail) to her friends who had kids dying for them.

I got timesplitters as my first game, something I played until I graduated high school thanks to the multitap.

It was my first "personal" console, I had previously shared a SNES, NES, Genesis, and PSX with a younger sibling. I loved that thing. One of my best memories is playing MGS2 when you fight the harrier.

Oh and P.S......
Kill.switch was a 3rd person shooter, NOT a FPS. And it sucked.

How can every Hannah Montana/Hot Wheels game that goes straight to the 2.99 bin get published but not gems like this?
