Feb 23rd 2012 3:08AM (Joystiq)The Vita is a brand new system, so I understand it's a bit limited and will grow later on, but at present it's a bit lacking. File transfer from PC to Vita is overseen by some content manager and you have no drag-and-drop at all anymore. Transfers are also hideously slow, but I'm not sure, could be my system. Video file compatibility is pretty small at present. Videos that play on the PS3 won't necessarily play on the Vita. Even the 1080p trailers I downloaded off the PSN store won't copy over and won't play. I'm hoping I don't have to specifically re-encode things to a vita-specific format.
Music at least is pretty hard to mess up, .mp3 files transfer as expected. Considering that the image viewer/mp3/and video parts are pretty basic right now, having 32GB of content on hand isn't as huge an issue.
Games, however.... yeah. If you want to push digital downloads, you better get high capacity cards at a low price.
