GHII X-plorer problem explored, culprit found?

Apr 6th 2007 2:28PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Anyone having problems with the Star Power activation?

The guitar I got directly from Red Octane was the 95065 model, and the whammy bar was fine. However, after a day of play I finally noticed (since I started on easy and skipped tutorials) that the blue button wasn't right. You had to press really hard to get it to work and then it was just flickering a response.

So I went and bought another guitar from EBGames and it is the 95065 model. Everything works fine but it seems more difficult to activate Star Power. The first guitar I got from Red Octane seemed pretty sensitive. With this one I need to get the guitar completely vertical. Is there a "correct" sensitivity to these things?

BioWare picks up StreamBase engine for MMO

Apr 3rd 2007 11:16AM (Joystiq)
"No indication on the graphical capabilities of the StreamBase engine or if BioWare will continue using the Hero Engine in conjunction with Stream Base."

Are you serious? Or was this a joke?

StreamBase is middleware for event management. It has no "graphical capabilities". It is not specific to games.

Wiimote deals massive damage on the 360

It can't be the free XNA toolset available because there is no network access available through the .NET Framework on the 360. He must be using a real commercial version of XNA.

The state of Xbox 360 homebrew

XNA on the 360 will suck until they add networking support. As it stands, you have ZERO access to the networking hardware which means no multiplayer over LAN or Internet and no access to resources over a network (for say a Media application).

Worms to cost 1200 points or less, um, yay?

Jan 4th 2007 3:09PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Um... I'd easily pay the equivalent of $30 for this game. I would consider 1200 points ($15) a steal. I LOVE me some Worms.

RAINBOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Played some last night. What a fantastic game. This will probably get the most attention this weekend. I'm also planning on picking up Small Arms which I've been waiting for. I've also picked up Pocketbike Racer and Big Bumpin' from BK so I will probably try those out.

And then there's the Lost Planet multiplayer demo. Way too much good stuff ont he 360 right now.

Fanboy explores the fall dash update

I have a question for anyone who might be able to answer. I'll be able to find out for myself later today, but I can't wait that long ;-)

Are there any new supported resolutions for VGA in this update? I'd been hoping for 1680x1050 as this is an extremely popular resolution for widescreen LCD monitors, and happens to be the native resolution for my screen.
