Nintendo and AOL team up to give Canadians Brain Age 2 bundle

Aug 23rd 2007 5:09AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
When I was like 9 or 10, Demolition Man was one of like 6 movies we had on tape (my parents kept most of the movies upstairs in their room...)
One summer I knew like every line in that movie. I thought that no one else except me sister would ever remember the definition of a 187.

Btw, we should all move to Canada. Free health care and meow free games...

Brother Bleszinski fears Wii, gives publishers terrible ideas

Jun 7th 2007 10:48PM (Joystiq)
The writer of this article does bring up some interesting issues. While I may not be as afraid as he is, I think articles like his and market flops for a lot of Wii crap games (like the Ubiports) will ensure that companies still focus on the core gamer. Also, I don't think the more casual gamers will buy that many games if their limited gaming needs are already met. But, who knows, maybe all of the second gen Wii games will be franchise minigame bonanzas.

*PS: The following rant is mainly directed at commenter #6, but applies generally to people who make broad, sweeping claims.

It always bothers me when people complain about how every single game on a console is terrible/bad for the industry/not worth playing/watered down. Especially when the console is less than a yer old.

If you are going to say everything on the Wii is terrible and watered down, then I hope you and your team of professional game critics have played every single Wii game at length while taking copious notes. Then your team would need to play every other game on competing systems while using your notes to legitimately compare Wii games to every other game. Only after finiding a statistically significant deficit in the depth and quality of Wii games, would you be able to say that the Wii games are watered down.

Some Wii games are terrible. Some Wii games are incredible. How much more can one person say for sure about the quality of every game on a system?

WRUP: backside air edition

I've been mostly playing SSX Blur. Having never owned an SSX game before, this game is double amazing. I love the music and the way it really enhances the game. Also, it didn't take me that long to get the controls... just think of the nunchuck as your board and the stick as the dude on top of the board. Also for the ubertricks, it doesn't depend on where you're pointing, just all motion based so make sure you move the whole controller.

Off the Grid: Set and un-fun gaming

Jan 26th 2007 2:04AM (Joystiq)
Set is an interesting game, but I can see his point about it not being fun if you suck.
But, I've never been one to quit a game just cause I was bad... isn't it fun to learn and get good at a game? Isn't that what's great about a new video game? You get a bunch of new techniques/strategy to learn and master.
But yeah, set is also a great smoking game since you can pass the piece during the lulls in the game.

What are you playing: turn-based battle edition

Stuck on Jumpin Jack Flask on sweatin' in Elite Beat Agents. looking to finish that today.
Picked up FFIII, played for like 3 hours yesterday, and completely forgot to save. Time to start over...

Sill got Megaman:ZX, viewtiful Joe:Double trouble, sonic rush, and mario hoops to beat. Now that i have a job (and 12 units) i got the money to buy all these games, but no damn time to beat them.

I got all of next week off though, so i'll have lots of Wii time and plenty of food to fuel my sesions.
