@ Todd... perhaps he can censor whatever he wants, but then he must be called & knowed as what he is, someone that deletes anything that goes against it's point of view, someone who has a megalomaniac mind a censor in all its slendor, an editor od a site where one can only agrees or be deleted!!!

E3 invites, what's the logic?

Mar 11th 2007 7:19AM (Joystiq)
Great so now it's the gaming companies who invite the journalists... tell about a way to control what they are going to write about the games & news they cover, journalists will have a tendency to auto-censure themselves not being to harsh with the company that invited them, otherway they may not come back next year... I guess some major gaming company was not too happy with what E3 last year turned out, that way they will be able to put a leash on the journalists, thay could as well let the gaming companies cover themselves the event & just let the gaming mags copy the marketing message... pathetic!!!

Gotta love the headline... talk about spin!!!

Casual observation: Phil Harrison poking the press

All this attention is not going to make me buy a PS3 meanwhile!!! A little bit of bad press can be helpful to an unknown product, in order to create awareness of the product in consumer eyes... constant bad press of a well known company that used to be well perceived is not helpful at all, there is such a thing as bad publicity, you have to be a totally stupid to choose a product wich has bad publicity over one that has good publicity.
Furthermore, instead of growing the identity of the product & develop a trend to market the product, they are stuck with countering the bead publicity & even worse now justifying previous lies & afirmation, doing an even worse job at justifying than ever... talk about bad PR!!!

Gotta laugh when you read "Joystiq at it again"... rather Sony at it again!!!
@ required... only fanbots like YOU deny the evident PR nightmare... when you're a gamer you want to be informed about the gaming scene, hardware, games coming, features etc... when people like Sony, lie, steal, spin, blackmail, mock with all their arrogance, it's pretty natural to witness backfire!!! Sony should be shifting their business focus with all this backfire, they should organise barbecue parties, they even have their own PS3 grill!!!

Sony blackballs Kotaku for rumor report [update 1]

Mar 1st 2007 9:17PM (Joystiq)
Everyone defending Sony on this one is(pick one or more):
_plain stupid.
_a little kid that doesn't know what he's talking about.
_a plain stupid pathetic sad fanboy.
_obviously joking & being sarcastic.

Freedom of speech & press is an undisputed right, the work of a journalist is to tell the truth, search, dig & investigate for it, nothing can impeach a journalist to do so, the only exceptions are with matters of national security & non relevant private life facts. Would Kotaku have bowed & done as Sony asked they wouldn't have been a gaming journalist blog, they would have become a Sony propaganda site, the way Sony handled this matter shows so obviously that Kotaku was on their own right, as all they could do was try to blackmail them. Journalism intergrity can't be bought, Sony tough so, Kotaku proved them wrong! I've been quite critical about precedent work from Brian Crecente, to the point of being banned fom the Kotaku comment section, but I have nothing left to do than stand & applaud him on his stance, he sure defended well journalism & freedom of speach! Bravo!!!

Metareview - SSX Blur

Mar 1st 2007 8:41AM (Joystiq)
"Should there be reason for concern with another hodgepodge of reviews?"

"So then, aren't we a little concerned? Fearful that Wii is just a gimmick. SSX has been a reliable franchise, but Blur has so far scored the lowest average of any of the series' console iterations -- it's hard not to see a message in that."

The only pattern I see here is your constant bringind down of Nintendo Mr.Ransom-Wiley... the paternal tone you use trying to convince us that "Nintendo is teh DOOOOMED" is quite sickening & unsulting... so the Wii is a gimmick because someone didn't figure out/put the time in SSX Blur at 1UP, who are always ripping on the Wii by the way...
The only message that is hard not to see is your hatred towards Nintendo & the profound adoration you have for Sony, anyone coming regularly to Joystiq can see that!!!
I'm totally with you Steve 3.2 #27!!!

Japanese software sales: week ending 02.25.07

Mar 1st 2007 8:11AM (Joystiq)
Props to Capcom for these sales, the marketing is not mentioned but this game was highly advertised in Japan, it's what you get when you make a good game, advertise it to death, and sell it on a device that has weak library... a bottle of the sourest water is gold in the middle of the desert... I assume this success is the exception that confirms the DS domination rule ;P

Sony unveils launch lineup for Euro PlayStation Network

Feb 28th 2007 3:18PM (Joystiq)
@Vidikron... in GB PS3 is 425£=835$, add 1 game 39£=76.5$... so a toatal of 911.5$ for the console + 1 game... far from your 600$ figure you are talking... with the 311.5$ diference, you can buy a Wii(including WiiSports) + 1 game + 1 VC game... unless 300$ is nothing to you, in wich case you won't mind donating me the 300$ in question...
