Torchlight 2 officially delayed, Runic prez suggests other games to play

Nov 17th 2011 5:36PM (Joystiq)
@stiqlol

Oh, I'm not debating that it will be an unqualified success.

It most certainly will, but they're burning a pile of cash if they don't capitalize on the rabid frothing desire there is for Diablo III right at this moment in time.

Torchlight 2 officially delayed, Runic prez suggests other games to play

Runic just blew it, bigtime.

If they were hoping for a huge release, their only chance was to ride the coattails of anticipation for Diablo ]I[.

If TL2 isn't on the digital shelves by the time D3 has a confirmed release date, a large chunk of potential revenue will have just evaporated.

Breakfast Topic: Design your own vanity gear

Oddly enough, that's almost the spitting image of my bank; Worgen Bufett of Barkshire Halfastray.

As the owner of three max-level alchies who switch often..

I have one thing to say about this development:

Ow.

I was the 6'2" blonde druid in spectacles and a fedora. We mutually drooled over Renee Gittens' Alexstrasza when she came by, and chatted with the GM who was formerly on the inhouse testing team for Titan.

...and the comment system nom'd my last line due to the 'less than' I used in the ASCII heart.

To reiterate; Love this dame.

Kelly rox! Seriously. This is one classy and fun lady. Spent a couple hours chatting with her in the badge/goodiebag line at BlizzCon '10. Very sweet, very short (sorry!) and very bubbly.

GuildOx shares the most popular WoW character names by class

Nov 2nd 2011 7:49PM (WoW)
Like Ninerva, I also do the 'one of each class' thing, and am thankful to see none of my character names are up there.

As for the extended ASCII versions being more popular than the originals? As Mike stated, they're all max-level. Bastards (like myself) sit on the originals and never level them (unlike me). I have a strict no-ASCII policy on my toons. If what i want is taken, I grab something else.

Worgen:
Wolf - Druid
Ruin - DK
Fire - Hunter (pets: Brimstone, Smoke, Forget, AtWill, Wild, etc...)
Nightshade - Rogue
Dragon - Mage
Impure - Spriest
Hurt - Warrior
Malfeasance - Warlock
Worgenbufett - Bank (Barkshire Halfastray...)

Other:
Hallowed - Human Paladin
Savage - Nelf Druid
Enhanced - Dwarf Shaman

To this day, the most clever name in my experience was a gnome priest named 'Compactdisc'.

(P.s.: If this is a repost, I apologize. It looked like the comments system ate my post, and it still wasn't here an hour later, so I reposted.)

Skyrim PC system requirements delivered via internet parchment

@Knight Marquise ...and I love listening to the mindless blatherings of those who hate DRM for DRM's sake.

DRM is necessary.

Most DRM is like the checkout lane at a grocery. Slow, obnoxious and rather cumbersome (unless you're talking about Ubisoft's, then you're standing in line with a cop in riot gear pointing a rifle at your face).

Steam's take on DRM is about as unobtrusive as it can get whilst still providing a modicum of security for the developers.

I'm sorry you're yet another GenZer who believes they have the right to take anything at any point because the world is beholden to you.

I have Steam on my laptop, I am rarely connected when outside the house, and I have absolutely no issues accessing my games.
