Xbox 360 used more for video and music apps than for gaming
Mar 27th 2012 8:22PM (Joystiq)game consoles have a lot to compete with for people's time.
"If you can't beat 'em, join 'em"
While game consoles continue to add other functionality, other entertainment boxes do not necessarily have a gaming console inside. I would say this is a good thing, but only if the first parties continue to support the growth of gaming functionality (which is in their best interest to do).

Mar 23rd 2012 7:40AM (Joystiq)I am not against all DLC, but the trend of developers planning out what NOT to include with the final game is very disappointing (even with collector's editions you have to pay more).

Mar 19th 2012 4:53PM (Joystiq)Ninja Gaiden 3 getting free DLC weapons, multiplayer stages
Mar 17th 2012 8:56AM (Joystiq)First, we don't know if its on the disc yet.
Second, these are weapons from Ninja Gaiden 2. I have no idea why they wouldn't already be in the game other than they did not finish on time and decided to finish coding the weapons later.
Third, some people were complaining about the Dragon Sword being boasted as the only weapon, this may be a response to that sentiment.
This is all speculation, but Team Ninja does not get a pat on the back for including DLC weapons that were already present in the final game of Ninja Gaiden 2. Also, the multiplayer stages might be isolated areas copy-pasted from the single player.
It's good that Team Ninja is not making it paid DLC, but I wouldn't give them too much credit just yet.
Obsidian missed Fallout: New Vegas Metacritic bonus by one point
Mar 15th 2012 10:51AM (Joystiq)What Obsidian should have done was made the deal even more silly and reductive. "If the Metacritic stays green after 25 reviews we get a bonus." Now thats how you strike a deal. Soon a lot of Metacritic users will only be looking at the colors.
I'm pretty sure they meant indie as in "independent" from an owning publisher. The term "indie" should be given its own definition to represent its separation of smaller, less funded developers.

Capcom's Svensson embarrassed by 'Revelaitons' covers, optimistic about RE6
Mar 14th 2012 8:24AM (Joystiq)It's hard to say whether Capcom is screwing over its customers if its customers keep buying into it willingly. It's still the customer's choice whether they want to buy a product, and Capcom fans must be ignoring all the negative press because Capcom keeps doing it.
Either that or Capcom wants us to believe their marketing strategy is successful so we just give in. I'm not sure anymore.
