This CAN be fixed with a software update. They could just increase the signal strength by upping it's voltage on the rf chip.

Canada likely got screwed by the cell companies (rogers, bell and telus), whatever, July is soon enough, now here's hoping they allow upgrades early

I live in Toronto Canada. I ordered an iPod touch last week. It was shippe on the 19th from foxconn in china and got to my house on the 20th. Within 24 hrs. So for all u canadians don't worry. It will likely ship on Thursday at like 3 am and u will have it by Friday

I'm also disappointed. I understand the fact apple didn't go all out on this device because they want to add a 2$ camera in the next revision, and add multitasking 2 years down the line, but as a base device it needs to have at least 2 or 3 functions that different from the touch or iphone. Right now all it has is a bigger screen...
A major issue with this is that u can't save files to teh memory, whereas a netbook u can. Also, think abotu this thing as a media player. It does NOT run WMV, does NOT run avi divx, so the only way to view videos is to convert them through a lengthy process and copy them via itunes. Goodl uck getting ur porn collection on this thing....

Build quality wasn't so good on the first. Also the buttons are too damn small. If they just removed the button i don't see how this is a pre "Plus"....

what's wrong with outside companies going in, they still employee canadian work force. Bell and rogers shareholders are all over the world, they profit from the oligopoly that has been formed. I hope Wind comes out with good plans.
