Bungie's next game is like, 'totally different'

How about a legitimate sequel to the Myth games? That'd be nice :)

Joyswag: Win this $5K dollar gaming rig from Falcon Northwest

Nov 21st 2007 4:01AM (Joystiq)
After a short trip through EZ Dorm's college-to-home shipping process, my desktop consists of this:

One (1) flickering 17" monitor currently hiding in my closet, caked in 1.5 years' worth of dust
One (1) full-tower case originally purchased in 1996. The right side has been bent outward by about 4 inches at the apex of the crease. The lower 5.4" drive bay is hanging by one screw, the upper one is gone entirely, the 3.5" bay above that is completely mangled.
One (1) ancient Asus motherboard (Circa 2001?) with the BIOS and CMOS chips physically knocked off and several large dents on the surface area
One (1) AMD processor rated at something in the 1ghz area. The heat sink's attachment section is in pieces, and the corners of it are worn from banging up the rest of the PC's innards. The processor itself appears to be in one piece
One (1) Geforce 4-era video card--one of the RAM modules is missing from the side, and the back plate that sticks out of the PC is bent
One (1) Soundblaster PCI128 soundcard. It is in good condition
Two (2) SDRAM 128MB modules. Though one was hanging halfway out of its slot when removed, both are presumed to be working
One (1) 56K winmodem of unknown origin--it came with the computer case in 1996
One (1) 32X CD-ROM/R/RW combo drive. It was in the lower 5.4" bay and does not spin up discs anymore
One (1) 80GB hard drive in 4 partitions. Two of these partitions are utterly corrupt and unrecoverable, while the other two will load occasionally, though none of the data is particularly secure. It was in the upper 5.4" bay
One (1) 3.5" floppy drive that came with the computer case in 1996. It hasn't worked since a freak electrical accident in early 2002
One (1) Linksys network card, bought with another one in 2003. This one never worked properly, and actually consistently blue-screened Windows when activated
One (1) set of Trusty 3D-103 speakers (2.1 system) purchased from a shady cart-retailer in 1997. The audio cable is severely twisted and only conveys sound if held at a very specific angle
One (1) generic 104-key keyboard (Can't read manufacturer, paint worn off). It works, though it is missing the ~ key and the paint has worn off of most of the home row keys
One (1) Microsoft-brand Optical mouse, PS2 connection. It works, though it invariably skips around erratically when gaming

I am writing this post on an Inspiron 9300 refurbished laptop. It is on its second hard drive, because the first one became slowly corrupt over the course of 4 months. The speakers are non-functional because the headphone jack fell into the computer and it was the hardware circuit breaker to the speakers--they get no power without it. Two of its USB ports are non-functional and the videocard (ATI x300) overheats unless I downclock it to 80% capacity. The DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive has been increasingly erratic, now taking several minutes to spin up audio discs. It hasn't been able to play DVDs in about 6 months. The ethernet jack doesn't 'grab' the tab on the cable, so cables slide out of it easily. Also, the non-conducting paint has worn off where my wrists sit. Since the electric sockets in my dorm room aren't properly grounded, anytime I run my laptop on AC power, I receive several painful shocks per hour of use. Also, the sensor that detects whether the monitor is closed or not stopped working; I have to manually turn off the monitor now. The computer is largely unable to enter sleep mode--if it does work, it can take up to four minutes to actually Sleep. The majority of the keys on the left side have no paint left on them.

Just for fun, I'd also like to note that the 10GB hard drive on my Creative Nomad Jukebox 2 (From the early 2000s - it is larger than a CD player and takes AAs) recently began to die--the player can no longer complete its boot sequence.

Planescape Trilogy planned for NWN2

I don't know who these modders are, but they are my new personal savior.

Thank you guys so very, very much.

Now, what's it gonna take to get everyone's favorite talking skull in for a cameo? :P
