Super Mario Galaxy 2 introduces 'Cloud' power-up

Apr 16th 2010 3:11PM (Joystiq)
The suit also allows Mario to upload his power ups to a central server that he can access from various remote devices like an iPhone or laptop. Ge-get it? Like...like 'cloud'....

I have been nice, and have been finishing last since birth.

Best Buy testing price matching of used games

Aug 7th 2009 3:05PM (Joystiq)
I wasn't aware of the markup on those items! But I know for a fact that a $60 game is bought by chains anywhere between $50-$55. I'm also fairly sure that they used to sell CDs below cost. I could be wrong though...

Best Buy testing price matching of used games

Best Buy subsidizes their business by offering smaller items for less, thus attracting more customer loyalty when its time to buy, say an HDTV. They did this for years with CDs - selling them below cost to attract new customers. Of course that ruined every cool indie record shop in my town. So before you fully endorse this - think about the fact that Best Buy's ultimate goal is to have monopoly on this market. As much as we all "Hatezors Gamestop - boo pre-orders, wah wah wah" the fact is GameStop is often the only place you can find an older game (barring online retailers). Sometimes its worth paying a little more to help the (comparitively) little guy.

Bioshock 2: Rapture sure has changed [update]

Mar 13th 2009 4:16PM (Joystiq)
Everyone's getting worked up about the fact that it should be a Big Momma rather than a big sister. But what if, the big sister is a little sister that got left behind at the end of the last game that continued living in rapture and took on the identity of her captors/guardians.

Spielberg drums in Rock Band, doesn't like cutscenes

Dec 9th 2008 2:50PM (Joystiq)
The worst was the first Kingdom Hearts. I had to fight the dragon lady at the end like 75 times, and there was a 2 minute unskippable cutscene that played everytime I hit "Retry". I memoirzed the entire thing by the time I finally beat her.

Metareview - Chrono Trigger (DS)

It's weird. When you bring up your menu outside of battle (like to check your stats, equip weapons, etc) it takes like 10 seconds for that screen to load. It doesn't seem like a big issue, but in an RPG you're constantly in those screens tweaking your charcters' stats, so it becomes a major issue very quickly. If you can live with it, its a perfectly capable port - but it was enough to make me give up in the middle.

Criterion teases next Burnout Paradise DLC pack

I would pay upwards of $20 for a traditional crash party mode ala Burnout 3.

Lips service: First DLC songs coming Friday, Nov. 21

Either way - the point of gift giving is to make the other person happy, not yourself. Believe me, after five straight Christmases of buying stuff for me - for my girlfriend - it finally sunk in.

It's like that Family Guy where Peter buys Lois the Galaga cabinet and instantly starts playing it. Or when Homer buys Marge the bowling ball with his name on it.
