Can you turn off all the blue lighting?

'Scratch: The Ultimate DJ' announced, Numark & QD3 on board

One "deck" and no crossfader = not a DJ game. It's just another "press button" game with DJ in the name like Beatmania and DJMax.

Happy birthday: take a trip in America's largest flying gadget (part 2)

Honestly the LED lighting was probably my favorite part of my Virgin experience. That and the fact that since it was a red-eye I had a whole row to myself.

Happy birthday: take a trip in America's largest flying gadget (part 1)

I've flown Virgin, the in-flight entertainment is decent but the system isn't finished yet. It'll be better when it's more put together. The animated safety video is fun the first time you see it.

20GB PS3s on sale for $450 at Gamestop

Aug 6th 2007 11:29AM (Joystiq)
You know I'd expect the writers at a gaming blog to know that the 60 gig gets you wifi as well and it's not just a $50 for 40 gigs of hard drive space deal.

European HD DVD lobbyists claim '74-percent' market share

29 pounds for a movie? Holy crap. Note to HD disc producers: the first one to cut prices to slight markup over DVD will win.

Ask Engadget: Forget the man bag, how about a gadget purse?

I use a Chrome Mini Metro from http://chromebags.com when I travel, it's not much for internal organization but it's not bulky, doesn't look girly, is waterproof, and after 2 years of heavy use it still looks brand new.

PS2 memory cards need adaptor for PS3

Aug 4th 2006 8:08PM (Joystiq)
Uh, I don't understand how you guys complaining about an adaptor expect to physically connect the memory card to the PS3 or even your computer for that matter without an adaptor of some type. Does your computer have a Playstation-compatible memory card slot? Didn't think so.

Doing something like this REQUIRES some sort of adaptor. At least it's possible unlike Microsoft.

Samsung taps iPod software designer for YP-Z5 interface

Feb 27th 2006 4:50PM (Engadget)
While this is a step in the right direction for Samsung, a well-designed product needs a designer and the right organization to make it happen. A company that's not open-minded enough will just pay for an amazing design and then let the executives and marketing folks screw it up by overruling important things. Look at what mobile carriers to to cell phones.

I don't know much about Samsung's corporate culture but let's hope the geniuses who thought "Yepp" was a good brand name for the West aren't in charge.

The real difference in Samsung and Apple: dollars in ads

Jan 11th 2006 4:39PM (Engadget)
Creative tried to do the "more spending than Apple" approach in 2004, with predictable results. Plus they went for total satuarion in everything but TV which is probably where you ahve the best chance of making people remember your brand.
