I'm not sure where confusion in the game press of who owns the Marble Blast IP is coming from. We've been pretty clear about it over at GG.
IAC owns the Marble Blast IP, only the Torque assets and IP were transferred to the new GG. The only games that IAC does not own that it did under InstantAction are the games the developers have struck individual deals for such as Lore, Ace of Aces, etc. The Legions IP is still owned by IAC, but the team behind Legions: Overdrive worked out a deal that allowed them to move forward with it as a community project.
The best story for me was Kotick admitting that he bet on the wrong horse when it came to Guitar Hero and Rock Band. Plus the fact that he continued to make comments that show he hasn't got the slightest clue about the actual trends in the market and is still the worst person to be at the helm of Activision.
I've been around these here parts for nigh on to four years now. Way back in Two-Double Nought-Five. Twere a simpler time then, and'n we had to work for our game news. Why we'd walk uphill ten miles in the snow both ways just to be told DNF was still delayed longer than long cat is long, and I tell you we liked it that way.
"While military officers are used to having their orders followed to the letter, game developers are used to questioning directions and looking for different ways to do things."
This is exactly why more game designers/programmers should start looking to Serious Games. I joined the industry just a little over a year ago, and with my background being games this is how I thought.
The military needs game designers to question them. It gives them a fresh perspective on the end user's experience.
