I found what I think to be a bug with the online backup:
If you copy a save-protected file (Dead Nation, for example) to the cloud, you're given a message that you can only download the file once in 24 hours. That's fine, no problem, I went through with the copy. The issue is that when you try to copy the file to another PS3, a notice is given that says you can only download it once within 24 hours, and the time you'll be able to download it is provided. Thing is, the file hasn't been downloaded at all, just been uploaded, so in my mind this is an error, and is counter-productive to what saving to the cloud is all about.
@gofish1985 Not quite right. If you stop becoming a PS+ member, they'll keep your saves around for 6 months. If you buy 2 years of membership, your saves will be around for the entire 2 years, PLUS 6 months after your membership lapses.
This makes me very happy. As someone who owns 2 PS3s, it's always been a pain if I want to play the same game on a different PS3. Get out the USB stick, copy the save, go to the other PS3, copy it back on...
When I signed up for PS+ I hoped they would include this rumored feature. I've been blown away by all the other goodies I've gotten from the subscription. Can we pay for another year of PS+ yet?!
I live in Edmonton, and had a nice chat with one of the Doctors years and years ago, back before they released Baldur's Gate. He was at a trade fair promoting Edmonton companies at a local college (they were the only interesting company there). He had an alpha version of Baldur's Gate, which people couldn't play because it would likely crash. He gave me a little demo, and we talked about the company.
Flash forward about 13 years and they're a massive force in the gaming industry. It's very cool.
@NegativeGhostrider I agree, just like Wahlberg's casting (if it happens) won't make or break "Uncharted." He's not the best choice for the role from a fans perspective, but he also isn't dooming the movie (That would be Uwe Boll as the director).
@TasticBycrom Ah, it's a different movie, with a different writer and director. Remember the suckage that was "Johnny Mnemonic," and then how great "The Matrix" was? Keanu Reeves was in both. Sure, he's done some bad movies, but he's done some good movies as well. For the record, I'm not someone that goes out to see a Mark Wahlberg movie because he's in it, but I'm not going to skip a movie he's in because he's done some bad movies in the past. I'm just happy that M. Night Shyamalan isn't directing... now there's someone that would make me skip the movie completely. Wahlberg isn't the best choice, but he's also not the worst one either.
@66jzmstr I hear ya there. I preordered the game (CE), but it's sitting there sealed. I've gone back and played some FO3 (first time in a year), and also went back to an old, old, old PS3 game I hadn't finished yet. I don't think I'll crack that box for awhile...
It's frowned upon to break street dates, but it certain isn't a law. If caught, distributors can punish the store by not shipping products to them, or shipping them late, but you won't find anyway going to jail over it.
