Doom 3 source code going free after Rage launch

Aug 5th 2011 1:46AM (Joystiq)
@Shadow Hog
I actually think it might take a LONG time to port Doom 3. This game is massive with crazy requirements, how many other devices can play it? I'm hoping it can, but I think there will be problems :)

Dragon Age 2 Legacy DLC review: Family outing

Aug 3rd 2011 1:08AM (Joystiq)
Sounds good, might have to give it a try. I just wish the regular game had this much thought put into it. Oh well, here's hoping they learn their lesson for DA3.

You can't. I'm glad it's on sale, at least people will finally experience it. It's one of my favorite (top ten) games of all time.

Levine talks BioShock Infinite's Move functionality, no plans for Wii U

Totally agree on all points.

I don't see why people are so quick to say Bioshock 2 was garbage. It wasn't a bad game at all; in fact I would rate it a pretty good game. It had big shoes to fill, and it didn't have the same development. All in all, I think it did pretty well, but not as good as the first. The way people describe and hate it, it makes me wonder if they've even played it.

EA to acquire PopCap Games for $750 million

Jul 12th 2011 5:54PM (Joystiq)
That's a whole shit-ton of money. Here's hoping they make it back; I don't want anything affecting future releases of the EA games I like (Crysis, Mass Effect, Dead Space, etc) .

EA's DeMartini claims Origin has 'never been about' competing with Steam

Jul 6th 2011 11:11PM (Joystiq)
@copa
A couple of thoughts. Yes, it kinda sucks if we're going to have to have a separate login for each publisher; I'm not looking forward to that. However, about Origin, I will say this: EA isn't going anywhere, so I'm pretty sure they will not just abandon it and screw you out of the games you paid for. Secondly, there's less DRM in Origin than there is in Steam. You activate your game ONCE and never have to run the client again if you don't want, unlike Steam which has to be running constantly, even in offline mode.

Battlefield 3 won't have any mod tools at launch

Jul 6th 2011 11:07PM (Joystiq)
Mod tools? Mean answer: "Hell no, you can't make maps like we can."
Nice answer: "The engine wasn't designed with mod tools in mind from the beginning, so it will be extremely difficult to implement them. However, we're not saying no, so maybe somewhere down the line we will release them."

Like XileShadow said, you can use a controller; if fact, you can use your ps3 controller on your pc, if you want. Just google it. You need to get some drivers and stuff, but you can get your ps3 controllers working on your pc.

EA takes on Steam with Origin, the only place to download The Old Republic

Jun 3rd 2011 2:56PM (Joystiq)
@PointlessPuppies

Um, I would think that that's EXACTLY how you compete with someone; only offer your goods on your site so people will have to use it.

I don't really see the hate for this. It's just another program. If it's the argument where it's another login and password to remember ... jeez, just use roboform.
