Is this the new iMac keyboard?

Jul 27th 2007 7:19PM (Engadget)
Taken for a ride?! Come off it. It's a non-cosmetic unit, as indicated on the bottom sticker. Likely a prototype in the final stages of design.

Next-gen brushed aluminium iMac in August?

Good point, but all-in-ones are not just for light users. I'm a Media Arts student, and although the power of a quad core MacPro and a 30" ACD would be great, the iMac is more of a prosumer machine with above-average specs (for its footprint). I have a 2.16 Core2Duo processor with a 256mb ATI 7600GT video card, a 500GB hard drive, 3GB ram and a 24" 1080P LCD built into one unit. This is awesome for a cramped bedroom at a university.

Gracenote trumps Sony Ericsson -- announces W910, W960, and K850

Awesome! I've been waiting for Sofia! Sony Ericsson, PLEASE give me a reason to move from Samsung to buy one of your phones... the K810 is a great piece of equipment, but it's still rather bulky and is only tri-band. Here's to hoping it will be a quad-band phone (though I doubt it)...

Scary to think what kind of neural-implant we'll need to take full advantage of the PS6's onboard neural links... :D

Xbox 360's Red Ring of Death visits Weekly Geek Show

Mar 25th 2007 6:55PM (Joystiq)
Who'se surprised? Not me. These things are about as reliable as a soviet motorcycle. X360 is a piece of sh!t, their fale rates, lack of built in HIGH CAPACITY drives, lack of built in wifi/bluetooth - So glad I went with the PS3.

Xbox 360 Elite: new, black limited edition Xbox with HDMI and 120GB drive

F*%& Micro$oft for not including the HD-DVD drive in the Elite box - or making the wifi internal - or getting rid of the RIDICULOUS power brick - I'll stick with my PS3.

Demand for PS3 is "phenomenal"

Mar 21st 2007 12:51PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Nice - The PlayStation brand has been a household name in Europe ever since the PlayStation was released. I believe most of these purchasers are simply excited about the advent of Sony's new console (as opposed to the so-so lineup of launch titles). Hopefully they will sell phenomenally across the pond, encouraging quicker game development (read: more games, faster), and perhaps a price drop? We'll see... Apparently Europeans aren't too upset by the dropping of the EE chip either. Can't wait to see what happens.

Mario + Disney = Mushroom Kingdom Hearts

Kingdom Hearts sans FF? No thanks...

Sony's Phil Harrison: no pressure to drop PS3 price

Motion control IS gimmicky! If you've played any of the handful of games that offer motion sixaxis functionality, it's laggy, it's slow on screen, it's not very intuitive - perhaps it's because this first round of games isn't that hot (as are all first-gen games for a new system) but I am not impressed. New features are great, but don't take away the old ones we've grown accustomed to. Sony just *constantly* comes across as pompous and arrogant in interviews, don't they? Remember when SCEA President made claims people wouldn't mind working "extra hours" to afford the PS3?

UK posts signs to ignore navigation systems, avoid perils

^^ Please don't take this ignorant user's opinions as a typical American's. Any halfway-educated American knows the difference between the UK and the states that make it up (including England). They're not the same, just as Canada and the USA aren't the same. Speak for yourself, "LordJohnWhorfin" and refrain from wrangling us into your opinions by saying "we".
