reason why they stick to these instead of fighting/dark/psychic is becuz these are basic elements. then again, flying, ground, electric sound great. :p
possibly even create somethin like an eevee, but not merely as epic, tht evolves into 1 of the 3 starter elements: Grass/Water/Fire at lvl13/15/18 or somethin??

then again tht would create complications...unless... u create a new starter evolution like past evolution where everyone gets the same starter, but the 'professor' gives u a choice of 3 items to give u, u choose tht item, and attach it to ur poke till it evolves?? :p

errr... snake?? its not a snake. I thot it was a lizard at first, then thought of treeko. Look again, its some kind of bird. Looks almost like a peacock, that grass type. :p New flying-grass type that isnt a legendary?? wait... theres also tht giant grass-flying dino... lol!

There ARE already well over 500 pokemon before this next gen. 493 recorded in most guides, plus some hidden ones, then, if you want to, count all the Unowns as well as all the forms of Deoxys among the other pokemon that have different forms like a recent water-mud type that is either green or pink, not depending on gender, but location... =\
